So Kris is canonically AFAB right? We got 2 very solid bits of evidence. Firstly Aqua who is very clearly meant to be like a younger Kris is extremely female coded. Secondly is Kris and Noelle arguing about who would be King and who would be Queen. Since Noelle is only ever presented as female this only makes sense if Kris was arguing for being Queen themself which points heavily towards female Kris too.

Something I noticed in this concept art is that the blue + yellow and the cyan + purple sparkles are paired up together which makes sense because they show up as duos throughout the chapter. But the orange and green sparkles are separated by Flowery's head. That seems oddly specific because even though they get a duo fight they're not treated as much of a pair beyond that within the game.
