Two interesting mods popped up while we were dead. There is now another Co-Op mod in development, Crimson Flyboy showcases it here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukXC6gNcKtkItsmePaulieB released a new GRiNDTerra mod that adds water sources to the procgenhttps://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/17631
>>572870992I meant to say Richard, not Crimson Flyboy
No one mention how the thread died because no fucker posts here
>>572872529i thought we agreed we'd leave it dead for a bit?
>>572872529I would have bumped us earlier, but I was on the toilet when in archived
>>572872529I was eeping
>>572872529i bumped before I sleptI let it die... im sorryand ill do it again
I'm more annoyed at the clowns who keep reviving
>>572873152There was no we. I said I would have brought us back about a week afterwards if no one else wanted to do it before then to give Bethesda or modders a decent amount of time to release something worth talking about, but I decided to revive it early because lo and behold >>572870992
>>572876776I usually have things to share or talk about. I just wait until it needs a bump to post. It's probably the next general to die unless Bethesda gives us some kind of info.
>>572876907And no one has anything to say about them. So.. What are we even doing.
>>572876981Waiting for senpai to notice
>>572876981well coop doesnt interest me because none of you guys seem very frenly and the water generation is very cool. anon posted about it last thread too. it says it affects performance and i already stutter every now and then when water is in the region for some reason, so i dont think Id want to get it. might try it and if i stumble on it and see my frames tank, hopefully i can just uninstall
>>572877915I'm probably the friendliest anon here, though I don't want to use the co-op mod either, at least not in it's current state. Seems like they're just getting it off the ground and it might be full of bugs. We can probably check out a few gameplay vids once more people start to try it out.
Alright, small ships or big ships?
Medium for me. I had my ship longer at first, but that had issues with clipping into things.
>>572878236Skyrim has a functioning server now. Dozens of players, trading system, all kinds of shit. Amazing what happens with no new release in... 14 years.>>572878372Small ships.Because I can't make big ships.
>>572878513Is anyone in /tesg/ even playing with one another? I know they at least share their characters as npc followers
>>572878372for me big ships, prefer heavy assault/exploration cruisers
Coming across water sources more often outside of coasts, swamps and wetlands really does help to give this game a more natural feel.
>>572879134Probably not. Most of /tesg/ at this point is just gooners. I think cyberpunks general suffered the same fate.
>>572884864It'll happen to us too eventually. We got the sex mods, and some body mods already incorporates jiggle physics, all we gotta do now is wait for bodyslide and a good 3BA/BHUNP variant and we'll be full of coomers too.

Why Bethesda decided to make the waters on Nesoi harmful when you can own a villa on it is beyond me. Good thing I know how to make patches, because the one available on Nexus is broken

I like it.2 thumbs up.
>>572872529It’s a sad state of affairs, isn’t it? I truly love this game, but it’s an anomaly as a Bethesda title. It just doesn’t have the same legendary staying power and natural popularity as Skyrim. Hell, even if I want to tell people that I am a fan of Starfield, I have to prepare for raised eyebrows and questioning if I belong in a mental asylum.
>>572916808Its because of our modding scenethats why Bethesda games always live so long. Everything has already been explored.
>>572910105Plastic tyre
god DAMN this fucking catwalk mod is really nice, but trying to place these things down is such a fucking nuisanceI recommend it if you like building outposts AND you have patience.
Aquafield does seem to add water to already generated landing spots from before installing the mod, but you might find some oddities
Anyone here often get a lot of crashes related to Gas Vents while out exploring?

>>572963929You can't do that, we're all supposed to be the same person and die
How has Bethesda not done a Halo collab with this game yet?
Do zoomers think literally every game needs to be Fortnite?
>>572964987You say that like Fortnite was the first game in existence to do collabs, and I don't think Starfield even has zoomer players
>>572965243I say that because 99% of it is coming from zoomers who think every game is Fortnite and Roblox, and the lack of zoomer players is all the more reason to not do the sort of shit that people make fun of fanfic for. Oh man what if Wonder Woman met Sarah Morgan guys, do you think they'd like each other!? What if one was gender swapped and they did anal!?
>>572964987they think every game has to be rdr2
>>572965614You're overthinking it. A simple halo gear collab just seems like something they would do considering Microsoft owns both that and Bethesda, similar to implementation of Doom gear. No one's suggesting some out of left field guest character collab like you'd often see companies doing in fighting games in particular.
Yeah, that's not a "collab", Jesus.
Happy 4th of July, /stag/!
>>572971119Time to build Space America.
I’m stumped as whether to start the Crimson Fleet questline as a criminal or as a vanguard. I’ve done it two times so far as a vanguard, and sided with UC SysDef both times, but in this universe, I intend to side with the Crimson Fleet since the Terran Armada pours out MUCH more expensive loot and MUCH higher xp than farming pirates.
>>572973134Its called United Colonies
>>572973178I forgot to mention… I have no intention of progressing the questline beyond the Jade Swan because it has a continuously replenishing Captain’s Locker with a high chance to spawn action figure, at least until I finally collect ALL the action figures legitimately. In other words, I’ll still be in the good graces of both SysDef and CF for a very long time.
>>572973385It's also called Akila. Almost every major city in this game is modeled after different aspects of the United States, though Neon is also different aspects of Asia.
We really need a proper mod to either keep the Fleet hostile to the player, or reduce their appearance in dungeons while you're currently going through that questline, or had already sided with them.
We just need the huge expansion sooner than later.
>>572980926We just go one and probably won't see another until next year.

>>572994368There probably will be, but it likely won't be a thing for another 10-15 years. By that time, you'll be bothering /tesg/ or /fog/ about their upcoming games, assuming 4chan will even still be here.

It’s not meant to be. I can only blame Bethesda for their mishandling of Starfield, and now Cyberpunk is experiencing a yet another resurgence thanks to the second anime season DESPITE the dreadfully bad launch. Let it rest until Todd puts out a third DLC next year. Until then, farewell.

Is the Escape mission worth $9.00 Australian?I’m wrapping up my playthrough on the PS5, it’s been such a GOATED experience. The only other open world games I’ve played that took 200+ Hours were Red Dead Redemption 2, and Witcher 3.With those two games you just end up hating them in the end. There’s not enough progression, the shine wears off, combat flatlines. What Todd has achieved with Starfield is just such an incredible achievement. I’m Level 82 and I’m excited for my next level up so I can have a crew of 8. It just understands what a ‘game’ is.
>>573139275I haven't even heard of it. Hopefully someone answers you, I might pick it up myself. I'm still sitting on my 1k todd dollars and most people say to get Trackers one.

>>573103481Okay so I kinda had to shoot my way out of New Atlantis and acrewed a bounty I cannot pay off. Wouldn't mind, was going to head to the Unity anyway. But now I need to build that fucking Quantum Entanglement Device and I can't go back to the lodge. Any mods that let me land on a planet I have a bounty on?
>>573125058Pretty much. Because of how rough it was to even discuss this game early into it's life, people looking for positivity mostly went elsewhere. Non-American Starfield players mainly hang out on Reddit, X and some Discords as 4chan is more like a dive bar for vidya discussions.
>>573149982Eh, nevermind. I made my bed. New universe, no belongings or credits. Lets find some temples.
Starfield could use more tedious blue and white collar jobs to really make you feel like you're living in it's world as a regular working class guy instead of a gun for hire. Along with some vanilla experiences like deliveries and working at Xenofresh, we have a few mods now that lets you experience things like being a restaurant franchisee, a miner like you originally were, and a barista, but I think we can do more to really get your hands busy.-Improve on the Space Trucker experience by having some space stations that only appears in the Free Lanes, forcing the player to manually fly out to them in order to deliver cargo instead of fast traveling to them, Also you occasionally deal with the Crimson Fleet trying to steal your cargo-Allow a Ryujiin player to do some desk work in their little corner office at the end of the questline. Maybe some paper work and remote hacking of other businesses around Neon-Allow the player to operate as a ship technician to repair the inside and outside of ships at the space ports-Variety jobs onboard of a Trident Luxury cruise ship. Cook, janitor, security detail, etc.-Repeatable UC Security job where handle disputes and criminal activity around New Atlantis.
>there's a mod to delete the Quantum Entanglement DeviceAh, another case of "I can't stop myself from using it if it's in the game", like fast travel in Oblivion.
>>573158249You could have just ignored it but... Couldn't stop yourself, I guess
>>573158249I'm sure some people appreciate it, even if it is an unnecessary waste on your modlist
Layoffs have begun, brace yourselves for doomposting
Posted in tesg as well, but the layoff emails are going out. Word is that Emil is gone for sure and Todd is likely to follow, not as an official layoff but he's leaving. Starfield future DLC is on the shelf and everyone left is funneling into TES6.
>>573161675Already confirmed that there are no actively developed games getting outright cancelled by the layoffs. The most that's going to happen is slower development on some of the less valuable franchises depending on what employees were kicked out. Starfield is likely still getting active development, but it's probably being deprioritized to favor TES6 and Fallout 5.
>>573164754starfield isn't getting cancelled because it's already released, but every source is saying future development is done, terran armada is the last one
>>573161675source and no way Todd is leaving and Starfield will for sure get 1 more major dlc

Guys guys do we have any info on which staff from BGS Maryland got laid offSo far I only see layoffs from 76 and ESO
>>573175276Apparently Emil for sure, and he changed his linkedin earlier, Todd supposed to be leaving soon. Not a real layoff, but obviously connected. Fallout and Elder Scrolls are the focus, Starfield is not likely to see additional content from here on out.

>>573175667I love (or wanted to love) Starfield and wanted to see it continue to develop, and am sad to see it put on a shelf. And obviously the deallocation of resources away from Starfield and the departure of its patron is important news for Starfield.
>>573175276There is no official info on what's going on, I even checked their official discord and nobody knows anything. Any information given outside of Asha's post is either speculative, misconstrued or unreliable insider garbage.
>>573161675Sony put the fear of god in Microsoft that sent them on an acquisition spree of big studios out of spite and to win the current gen console war, only for it to screw over the very studios they took ownership of because of Microsoft horrible business practices and the AI bullshit destroying hardware sales. Fucking hell, man… why couldn’t they at least leave Bethesda alone? I would’ve been totally content with just one more DLC on the Starborn, we have no clue about what happened to the founder of Constellation, Sebastian Banks, he’s giga suspicious of having connections to the Unity since he randomly disappeared in space and the very first artifact the explorers found was sitting in their basement for ages. Now you’re telling me we’re stopping at the Terran Armada? Seriously? Who the hell cares about any of the modern Doom games, or even Quake after Y2K? Goddammit, Todd. Thank you for damning your company into enslavement.
>>573171925When the Terran armada dropped, this general was going multiple threads per day. Not as fast as it was during the game’s release, but it was a refreshing re-experience of the general being alive.

Welp, I guess this is the end. I assume we've all seen the news regarding Bethesda and Starfield. I have to say, it's been a pleasure, of sorts, to watch this thread blossom and slowly die. This is the end. Goodbye, all.
>>573196962Fear not anon, we'll be kept alive by mods much like /tesg/ and /fog/. :)
>>573197079The problem is that people that do the cool mods, tools, and everything that is a "breakthrough" in modding are not interested in Starfield, the sad reality is that this is as far as we can go if BGS never releases more stuff for modders to work with, also the type of mods we have is the most we will get if support is lost, meaning, reskins, paid mods, stat changes, maybe a new/ported weapon or clothes
What pisses me off the most is that ES6 is probably still at least a year away at a bare minimum and Fallout 5 is probably just a concept at this point.
>>573198615Doesn't really matter, new people are filling or will fill their shoes. Half of those people probably don't even know how to mod anything but Skyrim anyways

>make ship>is ugly>say its good enough>game crashesAh, i see... it's a sign from Godd
>Todd really thought this would be the next TES or FalloutThe biggest problem is, aside from the bland boring setting which is already a death sentence, he thought the "random" quests in skyrim and fallout 4, which were already much shittier than previous regular quests and the games worked DESPITE of them not because of them, could be applied to world design. So he basically completely fucked up everything that people liked in their games. I'm mad as fuck the Xbox head moron never once told them to stop being retarded and make something people would actually want to play. They absolutely can make fun games but they need a tard wrangler and this is true for many companies. The worst thing you can do is let them do whatever stupid shit they want, which is literally how Xbox got to this point.
>>573248028There was no realistic way of filling 1000 planets of content and the POI system is the best way of addressing it while giving you the perception of a universe to explore.

Pick a couple of planets, make 4 or 5 different looking handcrafted maps, make the lore "TES but in space with aliens" instead of some kind of weird NASA bullshit with superpowers. Easy billions. I could literally write a wall of text with every baffling decision for this game but I'll spare the thread.
>>573251085Starfield is a different game to TES and Fallout and intentionally has a different formula due to the scope of the setting. Literally just play Fallout or Skyrim if you want those.
>>573251054
>>573251180
>>573251153It is literally what people actually wanted and expected though, a sci-fi version of their games. Nobody cares about this shit except for Todd and the other wankers. Also, the concept did so well that with the first DLC they went back to the normal old structure. Amazing.
>>573251298
>>573257616No actual confirmation on how much this affects /stag/ yet, just /tesg/ and /fog/. SteamDB does show that Bethesda is still working on Starfield as there was some activity an hour ago. Whether that's bug fixes or future DLC remains to be seenhttps://steamdb.info/app/1716740/history/
There is zero chance they won't release Starborn DLC, as well as patching the game every holiday to plug Creations (just breaking mods to put in an updated ad, not fixes). They're definitely hoping people will use Creations to build more unique POI and such to fill out the world. This is entirely what Bethesda deserved. They promised ES6, made Fallout 76 and Starfield - two projects NOBODY asked for and were entirely Todd's ego - and now they're getting a massive kick up the ass to get back to work and stop pissing around.
>>573303835Who tf bets on a Starfield sequel? the jeet is going to be dead before that game launches
>>573335874Starfield sequel is going to happen in 10 years.
>>573335874I keep seeing articles talking about a Starfield sequel, but I always thought that was way too optimistic. I was hoping we would get at least one more big DLC though. In any case, Bethesda should do some sort of announcement and clarify what's going on (not just for Starfiled, but for ESO and 76 as well) instead of letting us speculate like this. They won't, but they should.
>>573335874Many anons on this site will probably be dead by the time a Starfield 2 comes out if it even comes out. Bethesda really should focus on tying up the loose ends with the first game instead. Drop the Starborn DLC, fix some of the serious bugs fucking up modding, and release the Creation Kit documentation to the public. Then after releasing TES6 and Fallout 5, see if a Starfield sequel is worth the 5-10 year development time it's likely going to take, hopefully by then people won't be immediately barking at Bethesda to release TES7 and Fallout 6.

>>573425618I was playing Skyrim, then got the Oblivion Remastered, but still found myself playing StarfieldI get why I dropped Skyrim, I've been playing it on and off since its release 15 years ago, but Oblivion, I didn't even leave the tutorial before I dropped it to go running back to Starfield
>>573427948For me, I barely even play Skyrim these days for anything besides the sex mods, and I can understand dropping the Oblivion Remaster. I mean it's not bad, but having played the original game for years before moving onto Skyrim, you realize the Remaster is not that different besides the better graphics and a select number of new content. And there's hardly any incentive to mod it over the original (and it's harder to do so despite it just being the original gamebryo engine game with Unreal Engine thrown on top of it).
>>573407292My guess is that you can, but sadly no one is going to try it out

Still having a blast. Just taking it as slow as I am and ignoring the Constellation quest line has elevated my enjoymentI dont know what it is, maybe the game showers you in credits too easily or during any of the questlines. Maybe its because I'm sticking to a shitty gun that uses a fuckton of ammo that I can only reliably buy and because of the difficulty, I end up having to use even more. Or perhaps because there's no 10 different quest lines to choose from, that money is hard to get. Still undecided on where to go. I'm just taking it one star system at a time right now, and its either Akila City or Jemison next, with the goal is picking up two new companions, but i can barely afford one.

Anyone go on Linkden to check Tim Lambs profile to see if he got cut/moved to another project?
>>573486847He's still working on Starfield. What makes you think otherwise?
>>573486847I can't tell from Tim Lamb's profile, but Phil Speer appears to still be the Lead Quest Designer for Starfield.
>>573487470WellA. Microsoft fired tons of people at Bethesda.B. Microsoft said they wanted to double down on their major franchises like Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, Fallout, and Elder Scrolls(no mention of Starfiled)C. Despite the above claims, they GUTTED Id, and Zenimax Online, and fired a lot of people at Bethesda Austin, to the point people aren't sure who, or how, these new Doom and Quake games are going to be made, or how ESO or Fallout 76 are going to be able to continue.D. Despite moving Obsidian on to a new Fallout project, they also fired like1/3 of the studio.Like, would it really be surprising if they forced Tim Lamb and the Starfield team to drop Starfield and move over to TES6?
>>573488542do you like starfield?
>>573489549Yeah.
>>573488487Pretty sure this is Timshttps://www.linkedin.com/in/tim-lamb-a1a1485
>>573490367I don't think they plan to stop developing Starfield since Todd said that they will continue it for 10 years.
>>573494791That was when Phil was in charge and Phil was very famously hands off. Asha Sharma is forcibly taking Fallout out of Beth's hands and letting Obsidian make a new Fallout game. She could 100% kill Starfield development to put everyone on TES 6.
>>573495334>She could 100% kill Starfield development to put everyone on TES 6.I strongly doubt it; it would cause a bad relationship between Todd and Asha.
>>573496145So would be taking Fallout out of his hands when he was responsible for working with Phil to kill a Fallout spinoff game. She did it anyways.
>>573496630Or maybe he changed his mind on fallout, i think he realized that no one wants to wait any longer for a Fallout sequel. I would prefer if he forced Elder Scrolls and Starfield from now on.
Starfield will not be killed. It's an easy way to keep making money while TES VI takes another 3 years to come out. Spin-off games are a different matter, but BGS cannot be sped up. They will take 5 or 6 years per game and that's that. Putting out a small DLC for Starfield once a year, at least until the TES VI cash cow arrives, is a no-brainer.
>>573496630Fallout was not even originally made by Bethesda, and Todd is more involved in the show than the games anyway.
>>573495334The way your thinking about this is too narrow minded. There are 2 good reasons to keep Starfield development alive for now.1. We don't know how far along they are with their next plans. It might make more sense to let them complete their current projects and then reevaluate (remember: there will be more layoffs later in the year)2. Asha claims to be big into the user generated content model. Right now, Bethesda has one product that has a storefront for user generated content and is still in active development and that's Starfield. Ending support for it now might further deflate the limited market it already has. While it's certainly possible they pulled the plug, it might make more sense to keep it around for now especially since we know there are more layoffs on the horizon. All that being said, we're all talking out of our asses until Todd nuts the fuck up and tells us the plan.
>>573499304Ehh, that makes sense, but little that Microsoft is doing that makes sense.
Todd has no more actual power. Whatever he is ordered to do, he will do or resign. It's over and the sooner you accept it the better.
Todd will leave Microsoft with Starfield. Like Moses he will lead us (his chosen people) to the promised land of Starfield! And like Moses he will take 50 years to get there.
Todd's gonna stop the severed prophecy and restore the weave of fate to Starfield so we don't have to persist in the doomed world that Microsoft created
>>573507040This is the pajeets world, Todd is just a salve in it.
>>573471536did a sealant run for my outpost, discovered a bunch poi's both friendly and hostile, stored every weapon on my ship for selling later
Even if it ends, that's fine. I have enjoyed the game and I will keep returning to it in the coming years.

>>573522192>its cope
>>573499304Starfield is profitable and the creation store prints money. Starfield is also a training ground for Bethesda's developers because they'll be handling future Elder scroll expansions and updates too once that's out.
>>573529474maximum copium
>>573532432Im just stating facts, you're just coping because you hate Starfield being successful.
>>573532545>Starfield being successfulIt hasn't been at all. May even lead to bethesda closing shop.
>>573536665Now that's cope, Bethesda is still working on Starfield and they're getting more help for elder scrolls and fallout now. There's no way a new elder scrolls will flop because it's only behind GTA in terms of popularity and they'll go back to working on Starfield 2 in the next decade.
>>573536665-It was Bethesda's biggest launch ever.-It was the top selling game the month it came out.-It was a top 10 selling game of 2023.-It was the third most profitable game on Steam in 2023.-Drove the single biggest increase in Gamepass subs ever, up to that point.-Had more play time, and a higher completion rate, then BG3 did by the end of 2023, despite BG3 coming out a month earlier.-Was the only single player game to make it into the top most played games of 2023.-Stayed on Xbox's most played games list for over a year, not only above Bethesda's other games, but also competitors like CP2077, and BG3.-By the end of 2023 had reach over 12 million player, by the end of 2024 it has over 15 million players.-Based on total sales/gamepass numbers has around 20K+ playing it on PC alone to this day, putting it in the same realm as Fallout 4.-Still in gamepass's 10 most played games even in 2026.-Made it to the top pre-order spot on the PlayStation before its release.-Was one of the best selling games in the timespan it came out on playstation.

I want Bethesda to add a mutation horror storyline to Starfield.
