My experience with classes in Classic WoW (TBC) so far-Paladins: Complete niggers in world PvP, ganking people at low HP, ambushing someone fighting mobs, causing problems in Booty Bay, camping lowbie zones, generally being total shitheads worse than rogues. Equally useless in PvE, can't hold aggro, don't know routes, do fuck all damage, etc (except for a single Holy Paladin who was the best healer ive seen thus far)Every single class that isn't Paladin: Pretty much fine with some oddities here and there

The ret paladins that raided in my 2019 classic guild were the ones who would put on the dress and heal some raid bosses, but also contribute damage on the fights that were less healing intensive. So what if you don't top the meters, maybe if you can stop dpsing and heal, maybe that should be enough to justify your presence? Buff the debuffs or buffs these hybrids provide rather than their damage. But the problem is everyone wants to drop the raid player count from 40 to 25 or 20 in Classic+. I think this is the wrong way to go because dropping the raid size encourages homogenization of classes because 1 ret paladin in a group of 40 is less disrupting than 1 ret paladin in a group of 25.

In Classic+ all specs get a B-side that's a completely different tree than the original one, you can only flip one of the talent trees to their B-side variant at a time.

Islands off the coast is literally how you're supposed to do the first (couple) expansion(s) for an MMO though. Ideally the new islands have some exotic theme, mayan, arabian nights, etc. WoW fucked up big by going straight to the "other world" expansion, you save that till after the players have gotten a feel for the world. Everquest went to the moon in its third expansion, FFXI went to a dreamworld in its second expansion, etc.
