I can understand the Iconoclast position of being more pragmatic and being less strict with the Imperium dogma's, but there is literally no reason why you would keep around Idira, Yrlet or Marzifag regardless of your alignment. All 3 put everyone else and your entire crew in danger or can't be trusted at all.I hope there's a much better reason to actually have xeno allies that make sense.

>>572931583Stop thinking about cocks faggot.
>>572931631Idira’s funny because if you give her a chance she does legitimately instantly clean up her act and become completely devoted to you

I want DH to have a mechanic where you have to arrest or snitch on some of your companions to keep your Inquisitior status so you can actually protect 1 or 2 of them.
>>572931631Her premonition clearly worked out so well for the previous RT lol. I'd rather not have a ticking time bomb with an unsanctioned psyker who is more dangerous than helpful and is not even remotely comparable to how necessary warp travel is.Keeping Yrilet after what happens in Act 3 is really retarded but before that makes sense.
>>572932542>I'd rather not have a ticking time bombThis is a complete larp>who is more dangerous than helpfulWhat
>>572932770Every time I have played with Idira after Act I or whenever I can replace her with someone else has always resulted her killing herself or even getting the whole party killed. Gameplay wise, she's literally been worse than having no one so I almost never bother with her psychic powers.I kill her every single playthrough as a result.
>>572932542She saves your life the moment you meet wtf are you talking about. If she actually does that even 1 more time its is absolutely worth sacrificing your crew over.

>>572933883>>572934035>How is she more dangerous than helpful?>Lol also, the game is more fun because she adds risk.Literally proving my point for why she gets killed past act 1 every single playthrough, there's no way she would be kept at all lore wise.

>>572938661Not only she does not jump on any dick a week after, but we really don't know if Jaheira romance is canon in bg3It's clearly not Viconia, I assume it's Aerie since she was intentionally not included?
Shadowheart has vagina hairs.
>>572939156None of them are canon, Charname fucked off to Candlekeep for some years then back to Baldur's Gate where he became archduke and then died, blatantly contradicting the romance ending with Aerie
>>572937372WOTR has QoL and general improvements that might make Kingmaker seem even more rough than it already isI'd recommend starting with Kingmaker, but there's honestly no need to finish it if you end up not liking it, since they're not connected at all
>>572939505Is Kingmaker's story and companions make the game worth playing? WotR has a really great power fantasy story, does Kingmaker make you feel like you are an actual head of state?
>>572940353Yes, as the name implies, it's a game about your rise to become king. You start out as a baron as the reward for beating the current ruler of those lands in act 1

>>572941947I like the space battles in RT. Just wish your ship was more customizable. I WOULD have liked the crusade battles in Wrath but the unit balance is so nonsensical where the general advice for this mode is to stack an early game unit (snipers) and use any mage general to nuke shit. The supposed high tier units like dragons and angels are ass.

>>572935637>Aldori Swordlord>Sorcerer>Officer>Fighter>Fighter->Mage dual classI don't know about the rest
>>572941652Probably yes, but she would be deeply annoying about it. Minthara would evaluate it like a field ration for officers: warm, compact, savory, portable, protein-heavy, and structurally efficient. The egg would help. It is recognizable, practical, and not overly sweet. The Canadian bacon gives it a salted, cured-meat quality that fits a martial, travel-ready meal. The English muffin is plain enough not to offend her. The cheese is the risky part. She might initially view it as suspicious surface alchemy, then grudgingly accept that it improves the whole thing. She would probably dislike the branding, the wrapper, the cheerfulness of McDonald’s, and any implication that breakfast should be “fun.” But if it arrived warm and properly made, she would finish it.I think her actual verdict would be:Egg McMuffin: 7.5/10Hash brown: 9/10 if crisp, 3/10 if soggyCoffee: acceptable only blackMcGriddle: absolutely despisedSausage McMuffin with Egg: possibly preferred over the originalThe key point is that Minthara would enjoy it, but she would refuse to admit she enjoyed it. She would call it “adequate,” ask who commands this “McDonald’s,” and then quietly order another.
>>572942186>officerYou get three officers with unique abilities that make them better officers than you'll ever be. Don't get me wrong I understand the appeal of it and it fits a RT but for a first run I'd choose something more combat oriented.

Prayer and genuine belief can turn into warp magic in 40k. You'll notice they always avoid replying to whoever is supposedly replying to themselves, to avoid the rigmarole where they post a screenshot showing they aren't replying to themselves, and then the accusing party has to scamper away and mutter "y-you used the console" to themselves. If they would just enable poster IDs on every board it would improve quality immediately, and there's no reason they haven't other than they actively want the site to be as faggy as possible.

>>572947034One thing I'll say is watching videos of DOS2 already made me dislike the narrator.I really hope Divnity's narrator is a female voice and not a m*le one. Although given how much more popular Larian is now post BG3, even if it's a m*le one there will probably be mods to replace it.

>>572950129Yes, if you play a story heavy game and complain about a story heavy part of the game, you would best be served by going back to Madden and Fortnite, games more suited for your archetype. He's not, he already explained that to you, but that obviously made you angry so you'll anonbot no-reply for a while like you usually do until I close the tab, or maybe even use your mom's cellphone to help create popular support. Based! In fact, I think it's time to post some VTMB2 screenshots and do a whole playthrough, I've been putting it off a while but it's a fairly new CRPG and the /crpgg/ generals could really use some new blood, right? Playing through one of the most misunderstood CRPGs of the last ten years, part 1: the launcher
>>572949531>Autistic wicca girl. Definitely hairy, probably showers every 2-3 days
Most crpgs make you do an entire new playthrough just to see any story expansions, so I really appreciate that this crpg puts them as separate adventures entirely. We'll be going through those later of course, but for now let's enjoy the main story.
Now that's consideration. CRPGs take a while to playthrough, and losing a save is pretty painful. Good looking out TCR. But I know I'm restarting the game, so let's jump right in.
>>572951060You're spot on.
They live among usThey go out at nightThey have connectionsThey feed on us
One cool thing they've added since launch as an accessibility feature is the ability to skip certain portions of the game that might have been offensive to more "urban" audiences that expect their games to be more about collecting rings and coins and less about exploring a narrative. I know I know, narrative is a core part of the CRPG experience, but we have some gamers these days that can't even spell CRPG, and they need to be accommodated too. But for this playthrough let's go with the full experience.
not a crpg
As a CRPG, VTMB2 really hits you with the choice and consequences right off the bat. The first choice is a pretty major one, whether we'll have a dick or a vagina. This will impact things like our voice, how certain characters react to us, the availability of certain blood resonance types and a lot of other stuff. For now, let's go with a female character so that we can roleplay a lesbian. I'll be making her hair blonde later.
That option is not available to new players actually.
Reminder.>Rogue Trader's next dlc is a male companion with romance.>Dark Heresy's first dlc is a male companion with romance
okkk im done finally with comorragh im keeping marazhai but locking him in a chamber during warp travel and yeahi think im going to try and save abelard's family rlly quick and then visit winterscale honestly i already explored almost everything so i think maybe im close to the end
Someone got real salty over the comment that VtMB is a crpg. VtMB2 is not a crpg. VtMB is.
>>572952561>Owlcat games*yawn*
>>572952613>I'm gonna save Abelards family>I'm going to keep Marazhai (alive)oh boy, who's gonna tell her?
>>572952613you can't romance marz if you lock him away
>>572952540Just as well, sometimes a game can be TOO accessible. We'd all be better off had there been more of an effort to gatekeep things back in the day. Afterall, I can't play Madden and skip the football, why should Tyrone Hoodball be able to skip the roleplaying here?Annnnnnnyways, the intro to the game is pretty neat, and gives a good preview of how good the voice acting is goign to be (really good). I also like that it foreshadows story events that aren't clear the first time, but you notice the second time. Based!
>>572949531>Autistic wicca girl. Definitely hairy, probably showers every 2-3 days, autistic so you're her first and she'll be overly clingy. 0/10>lists only plusses>rates it 0/10???
The opening to the game is pretty neat, and probably better paced than the original back alley shootout in the first one. I really like that you can see your body in first person, and that the game doesn't swap you around just because you tried to punch someone. It doesn't do as well with first person immersion as Cyberpunk, but its up there.
I also really like the reactive crosshair, so you the player get a hint that Phyre the character has detected something via the Inspection feat, but without it being so garish as a blue glitter sparkle all over the screen. Clever way to signal things to the player without breaking immersion, which is pretty important (to me) in a CRPG.
>>572949531>Autistic wicca girl. Definitely hairy, probably showers every 2-3 days, autistic so you're her first and she'll be overly clingy.>0/10I'm confused
>>572953195>>572953023>>572952531I'm glad you're at least describing what you are doing so it's not just random screenshots with no context.
>another 4k autistic blogposteryou would think this was the namefag
>>572953371Posting your playtrough is fine, but try to condense it a bit, otherwise you're gonna spend the entire day on the first few cutscenes.
More CRPGs should have a codex. These games usually have a lot of lore, and if you aren't familiar with the ins and outs it gets pretty overwhelming pretty quickly. Who the hell is Iomadae? Who is Lolth? Why? That said, I do sort of miss the old inventory system in the first game. Once you're about half way through a twenty hour CRPG obviously you've picked up a lot of items, and having items and quests and people and lore all jumbled together is a bit of a mess. >>572953490Once I get to the city I'll just post pictures of snow.
>>572952846It can end fine if you do Marazhai's quest right. You need the other Elf too though.
>>572953657
>>572953546not him, its the russianfag
There are some things the first game did better, but combat is undeniably better here. Some Fromsoft fags will be by to insist it's bad in some vague kind of way as they always do, but everything just feels better. People wouldn't have hated the warrens so much if it played more like this.
bloodlines 2 is cringe action "rpg" trashbut thankfully a proper vampire crpg is in the works
>>572954172This is utter kino.
>>572954172>DEvisual novel, not a crpg>DE clonevisual novel, not a crpg
Movement is also much better here. The original always felt like you were ice skating, but here you're graceful, and there's the usual modern enhancements like mantling, you can glide, sprint, and so on. Much easier and much more fun to get around the city. >>572954172I have this one wishlisted. The Hunter game as well, which is more of a Bloodlines type of thing.
>>572954396original movement was way better you FUCKING FAGGOT.
>>572954172Made me remember Vampyr. That game was cool.
>>572954585Vampyr fucking sucked. Cognitive dissonance the game.
Is today the day to shill everything but crpgs?I recommend getting xenonauts 2 while its on sale. It's what nu-XCOM should have been.
>>572954461It obviously isn't.Anyways, the first conversation gives us our Clementine will remember that markers, and you can test it pretty early to see how it changes how your friend reacts to you, how honest he is and so on. Unfortunately, just like modern gamers actually need yellow paint to signal where to go, they probably need some story equivalent to make it more obvious to them when they've changed something.
>>572954659I mean the gameplay was jank and bad, but I thought the narrative was very good. And the VA did a good job.
>>572954798It fucking is.
>>572954703im thinking about getting borderlands 3 actually
>>572954703no it's not, XCOM is actually fun unlike xenonauts it's fucking trash only unc retards unable to accept the 1990s are over like
>>572954859I found BL3 not as good as BL2 desu senpai>>572954878filtered
>>572954947eating shit filters most people
>>572954837You're being absurd.Anyways, every game has detective vision now, it's an easy way to dog walk Madden gamers to where they need to go next, but I liked the way it's implemented as a sort of auspex here. It's nice to not have to spend dots on things vampires should have by default.
>>572954859Siren in 3 is really fun.
My buddy considers the total war games a crpg but I just don't see it.
Telekinesis also ends up being pretty nifty. You sort of have it in the original since anytime you pick up an object you can't see your body and its just floating around, but it's a little more intentional here.
>>572955207You have characters with levels and equipmentand you roly-play as a warlordI can see it
The story did suffer from some rewrites, so there are things like this that are left semi-hanging by the end. It's probable that Fabien was meant to be a little more Malkavian than we see in the game now. Still, it's cool to go through the first area and see all these little hints that make more sense now.
>>572955207how so?you control a country not a character, their traits are randomly generated stat buffs and even if you try to pretend you're playing as your king/leader he'll die 50 turns into the campaign while you keep going so it's not like you have a consistent main characterby that logic civilization is way more of a crpg than total war
Her romance is good because its extremely well paced. I didn't post the brother talks because I wasn't sure if it was bullshit or not, I suspect I will find out soon enough (and then there would be a lot to discuss there either way), but they pace very well her being vulnerable with her putting up a wall and calling herself a whore to try to disgust you and push you away. A modern game would have used the bodycount as a quirky throaway to show how independent she is, but here the matter is actually taken seriously both by the characters and the writer.Obviously, her behavior is extremely toxic, only some characters could romance her, the majority could not, but its easily the most invested I've been in a crpg romance. Even if I were to not romance her, however, I would still want to help her, so it is kind of a shame all of her personality is basically locked in secret for players who either did not romance her or failed her romance in one of her various traps she sets to sabotage herself.
>>572955450
Realistically is Aerie or Viconia better at sex? Which one of them would leave claw marks on you?
I wanna smooch her.
>>572955561>he'll die 50 turns innot if you play Warhammer
>>572953657What the fuck? Is this Skyrim?

Is Age of Wonders a crpg?
>>572955663Aerie, experienced hags don't leave claw marks lustful princesses unleashing their passion do
Stealth is much more fun here, a bit like Dishonored. You still have the crouch sneaking and assassin attack from behind, but also just more options from the better movement and verticality. Investing your XP into the Obtenebration or Quietus disciplines does a lot for you too, much more varied than just turning invisible for longer periods of time.
Anything to drop or add? Always on the lookout for crpgs that might look intriguing and whatever else.
>>572953657>>572956003Seriously, look at this shit. Fifteen years, a new game engine, and a completely different development team working under a different company, with zero overlap, and what's changed? There's now a hint of yellow in the color scheme.
>>572956375I'd say so, it has way more main character customization and party build options than many of the "crpgs" in this thread
>>572954703>xenonautssoulless shit stuck in perpetual Early Access
Weapons feel pretty good to use, although I still think using telekinesis to just steal them and fling them into their heads is more cinematic and fun. >>572956643Lists are a good way to convey information.
>>572956609>krwhat the fuck kind of monopoly money is that?if Dark Arisen is as good as the DLC for the first Dragon's Dogma, that will be worth picking up
>>572956779It's Norwegian krone, but we just call it kroner nationally. Like the Swedes and the Danes.
>>572954703I recommend getting X-Com: UFO Defence and playing the XPiratez mod

>>572956746Bro, it's been out for ages, feature complete.>b-buname one thing it's missing.
>>572957039OpenXCom is better
xenonauts is unironically a cointoss game whereas xcom is actually about risk management
>>572957238engaging gameplay that doesn't put you to sleepzero atmospher during combat or soldiers returning from missionart style that doesn't look it mugged project zomboid in a seedy alley for it
And like any other CRPG we must now pick our class. We'll go with Tremere this time. You're not quite locked out of character development options if you pick the wrong clan, but it does make things easier or harder to obtain, and changes how different characters will react to you.
>>572957897Lasombra are better.
>>572957897any reason why they cut the Malkavian option?
>>572957897
>>572958269Why did you buy the good goy edition?
Like any other CRPG you invest your XP into different skill points, here disciplines. In some ways this is much less advanced than the original, in some ways more. There's no skills for sneaking or lockpicking, it's all disciplines, but the disciplines are much more fleshed out. I would prefer something like the first, but there's still a lot of room for character expression here, and the disciplines are less same-y.
>>572958645>in some ways moreShut the fuck up, cunt.
for iconoclast the game is literally just like everybody loves you :)) and then i curtsy for my officers and they present me with a gift and are like you take such good care of us and your planets :)) lolalso yeah im not romancing marazhai he just wants to cut me and i liked it more way when he lets you pretend to dominate him and i dont want to reload the save soooo he lives in a box nowi have like 66 warp points and i visited every star system except 1 so can i make every route green or should i save them?? most routes are green already and i haven't used a yellow in a rlly long time
>>572957553You need OpenXCom anyway to run the mod, but you also need the data files from the original game. And sure, you can pirate those, but it's like a dollar on Steam.
>>572958729Each rank also gives you different appearance options, which are much more in depth than they were in the first. Different characters react negatively or positively depending on how you're dressed, and it's not a simple tier upgrade. This is one area where the sequel actually outshines the original, and probably the biggest difference. There's a lot of little changes baked in here, much better than paying Fat Larry for an extra point of soak.
>>572958759I like that your officers get benches to rest on as well.
>>572958859I played and finished both, asshole. Don't attempt to lecture me on something I've played.
>>572958127I liked them too. >>572958176At some point they decided you'd have Malkavian Silverhand in your head, so it would have been redundant. In hindsight the little things it adds are so out of place I probably would have skipped it, but eh.
>>572959104Everything I've said is true, as is everything I say. You should have paid better attention.
>>572959469Take your meds, preferably OD on them.
How did paradox even end up with VTM in their handsThey are a map painting company
>>572959608Paradox only published it. They publish quite a few random games.
>>572959593Caller, preferring the first game is fine, but pretending it has better movement? Combat? That the disciplines all being 90% the same is better than everything being unique? Come on now.
>>572957763None of that has to do with any so-called "perpetual early access". I accept your concession.
>>572959848The humor in VtMB2 was legitimately ass. You can tell that it was written by shit white women in their 30s find funny. And too many voice actors have obvious swedish accents and its incredibly immersion breaking. The cool thing? Unique melee combat animations for all clans.
I would peg the block around St. Stephen's to be about the size of the Santa Monica hub, and that's not counting the verticality. You'll sometimes hear memed out faggots and haters (but I repeat myself) claim the city is really small, but only in comparison to GTA or something like that. It's much larger than any single hub in Bloodlines, and probably larger than any two.
>>572957039I find both of the big overhauls (x-com filez and x-piratez) for x-com too long. I wish they had an abridged campaign.

>>572960005Yeah, and you'd be saying the same shit to VTMB today if it came out right now. Blood has different properties depending on if the person is scared, angry, horny, and so on, and you can manipulate them to get the properties you want.
since it seems appropriate to ask, would I enjoy VTMB1 in current year and are there any essential mods for somewhat vanilla experience
>>572961279>resorting to insults after running out of argumentsThanks for your concession, friend.Always nice when someone like you acts out the "I AM SILLY" part of the argument.
>>572961917It's still good, but I do think it has aged worse than some rose colored glasses would have you believe. Unfortunately your best bet for a vanilla experience today is still the wesp5 basic patch, but even that has a lot of fanfiction in it. The true original 1.2 game is almost lost media at this point.
>>572961584Better than bloodlines 2
>>572962089thats not saying much to be honest
>>572961246Got it free.
vtmb works because it manages to sell schizophrenic vampires as a concept but also makes playing as one unexpected and funny. it has early 2000s self-aware comedy that remains relevant and entertaining. vtmb2 is derivative and millennial. it‘s a poor man’s cyberpunk77 that sacrificed creativity, humor, risk, and depth for an on-rails Ubisoft movie adventure
Most of the HSL map was recycled, but they did wall off parts of it, like the ferris wheel from the original trailers. You can still cheat your way over but it's mostly unfinished, unless they finished it for one of the expansions.
>>572962492For someone just playing it now you seem to know a lot about it. Why? Did you follow development closely?
>>572962434Nonsensical pseud word salad. VTMB is old and was established as good already by the time you became self aware, so it gets grandfathered in. >>572963354Even the shooting feels better, which is crazy since the first game was basically a Half Life 2 mod and the shooting here was pretty much tacked on.
