Newfag here, how do you come to terms with the fact you might be total shit?Had this series in my periphery for a long long time because of the obviously appealing character designs so I started playing them. I fucking sucked shit at highly responsive to prayers, but since its the weird first game with kinda different gameplay I didn't let it get me down (it also has infinite continues so enough banging my retarded head against it eventually got me through both routes)Now I'm on story of eastern wonderland and I'm STILL dogshit, maybe even worse because of the limited continues totally stopping me in my tracks. >>573062316Getting started in SHMUPs is going to be reliant on stage/boss knowledge. As in knowing what happens where and that involves a lot of die & retrying. Once you start recognizing patterns and stuff you'll be able to pull out your technique arsenal, you'll be able to just dodge stuff you didn't know was coming but knowing what happens where is pretty much the base.I've yet to try the PC98 games because I'm lazy and I'll be honest I don't really care for them, but from what I know 2 onwards are straight up SHMUPs (though harder than regular windows 2hus? I'm not sure) but spellcards should have some way to dodge them reliably, go check out replays/youtube videos if you're having trouble figuring it out.
