I forgot to post a year 2 update so we'll call this year 2.5The lab is finally starting to look more like a civilized facility but there's still a long way to go. Progress has been hindered by a lack of resources (mostly steel and wood) and the constant raids, but the extra help from Zlata has been a welcome relief. However, the clothing options for a nudist vampire are rather slim, so both keeping her happy and keeping her from freezing when she goes outside has required some fine tuning. Rob and Holden still can't stop talking shit to each other, but they both adore Zlata and so it was no surprise that Rob hooked up with her pretty quick. I think he got tired of trying to explain that a cat was fine too. Beefing up security is the next order of business since Rob nearly got his eye shot out during the last raid. A passing prosthesis trader provided a bionic replacement, but Rob is the only one with high enough medical skill and can't operate on himself. Wanting to play a game where I play as a tiny species that are modelled after a flock of songbirds. Even if they're humanoid imp-like critters or something else entirely I wanted to make them small, short lived, rapidly multiplying, and small enough that a Kolibri feels like a normal service weapon... But the problem is I don't know of any guns specifically designed for smaller xenotypes in rimworld. The closest I could find was the 2mm Kolibri from Guns Galore (can't remember which pack), and the JR-15 .22 LR rifle from "School Defense" evidently designed for child colonists. I think there was a Zip 22.Either way unsure if I should make myself a quick mod for that with some kind of goofy general purpose "rifle" that fires something like 9mm or some kind of stupid PDW style round that's just that small.

Recently, I've started chatting directly to my pawns with RimTalk instead of just watching them talk to each other. Asking them questions on stuff they're doing, even stuff like 'your right lung has that deterioration disease, do you want it cured (supposed to be untreatable but I have a mod that makes most things like that 'treatable' with just surgery), replaced with a natural lung or bionic lung, and if bionic lung, do you want both lungs replaced?' kind of questions. Actually shifting towards having some 'important' directions determined by pawns instead, pretty much. This on top of stuff like how I'd describe in detail the outfit they're 'actually' wearing based on the Rimworld apparel they're wearing in their Persona tab (e.g. having Moyo bodysuits literally be the equivalent of the 'impossible bodysuits' tag on boorus) as well, and with some RJW submods like Nudity Matters More, I end up with pawns sometimes talking to each other about how their outfit feels exposed even though they cover all the 'important bits' (for Nudity Matters More purposes). It's to the point where I truly can't return to a pre-RimTalk game anymore.Speaking of AI things, Deepseek is going to be a little bit more expensive soon if you use their service within 'peak hours' on their platform. Nothing changes if you're using their service 'off-peak' anyway, but they're essentially increasing their prices by +100% if you do use it within 'peak hours' as listed in the image. I guess that is the 'price' of having unlimited tokens per minute?
