To be fair you have to give Endfield credit for making by far the best China region of all gachas. Leaning into the sci-fi echo-tech angle is so refreshing compared to the usual Chinese fantasy wuxiaslop. China in other games looks like the Qing dynasty; in Endfield it looks like modern Shenzhen.

They can even tie in sanity to farm some base materials you need to combine with it to get the gear if they also wanted stamina to get involved.

In other games players don't simply do funny build because they want to test, but they are forced to run it because they can only get suboptimal rng gear. In the end they are grinding nonstop for the optimal bis gear of that character anyway and therefore has no time to grind for niche build.In Endfield, you can max out the gear without timegated rng and thus it allows players to swap around and experiment with builds without having to grind for weeks for one optimal piece and years for the perfect set before they can play around with other builds.It's why whenever someone give a recommendation build on other gacha games, it's always "get this stats to x - y" because all of them do the same thing. At least in Endfield when I do CC I can swap my controlled character to a perfectly artificed full HP build to tank and simply change back to whatever set I used before without having to farm for it. I can switch Fangyi's kit from focusing on pure dmg or to focus on regenerating energy without feeling bad from having to farm two different stats until they are usable, etc.

Russian OG AK creator that got max risk (both 47 and 54, I believe he was the only one to do that outside of Asians) wasn't allowed on their global CC tournament because he said multiple times that he's dissapointed in Endfield, Arknights is a much better game and Endfield is fundamentally flawed (or maybe that was because he used a local meme about chinks a lot).
