It was a very unique cultural bubble isolated from the rest of japan where entire culture shifted from one year to another based on what was seen as trendy or cultured. Court dialects evolved quickly because they were fluidly combining japanese and chinese characters, inventing new readings, creating entirely new characters and poetic forms that never spread beyond the court and had a whole codex of constantly shifting innuendo that said one thing but meant another.The Tale of Genji is the most famous example, being written in a court dialect that died out a generation after it was written. It's only intelligible today because the story was popular enough in the eras immediately following that there's a whole ladder of intermediate translations from different points in japanese history. Which in turn makes it a sort of rosetta stone for a lot of other heian court writing of the same generation.

Playing through OC2 here, trying this again not on my phoneI feel like they killed off the family too early. After the second Avenger fight feels way too soon. Doing it after the 4th or 5th Avenger fight I feel would have been a better impact. They could have built up that they were in danger prior and even with the Player assigning a Servant to guard them, they still die. Have it be when the MC is at a tipping point of anxiety after having fought an Avenger where they lost a Servant as well. instead of just coming fresh off an easy victory.
