Just finished Tri. It was nostalgic hearing the old dub voice actors but I have to concede that the series was boring. The animation was oddly flat and janky for a series released directly to theaters. It looked like Invincible. I have now seen the new episode so I can join in with the current consensus: Yes this was a good episode. I was worried they would try and ruin Kyo's celebration but I was happy that they didn't take that obvious route for conflict and let that moment exist entirely peacefully. New villain seems good. The bounty is also a good way to stretch this out into an arc. People want that fucking money, so they bring the fight to Kyo.
