There was just a lot of intersecting sub plots that felt meaningful and connected like Sakura and Rosanna learning to cut loose, Maiden and Guilty becoming friends and the nature of their jobs affecting that friendship, Viper and Jackal being goofy and fucking around, SKK getting dragged into Sakura's Rape Cave, Even Viper and Rosanna's woman moment felt a bit more well done than Marcianna / Naga / Tia's woman moment. I think it also helps that while both events had it brewing and stewing in the background, Beauty Full Shot felt better executed and just landed better. Everything just culminated in such a great way too even at the end. Guilty and Maiden fishing into a Kraken fight where everyone has to work together may be more contrived than landing on an island and having this mystique and mystery about it being a rapture prison is fine and is less contrived than "We fished up a Rapture, oops let's go beat the shit out of it" but it also just feels boring since there was hardly much going on outside of that since investigating the island took up so much of the bulk of the story that everything else feels shallow in comparison. Ironically, despite how bad Boom the Ghost was, they were able to get around this problem with the Utopia by having the ghost niggas be pretty interesting, even using them in a clever way to give more depth to Frima's backstory
