alright, test post here. who here actually cares about persona 4 revival? And I mean you are deeply invested in the release and will get the game to see for themselves how good it is. I feel since golden is already out, unless you really enjoyed what p3 reload was and need it in p4 flavor it's literally just a current gen graphic update. Maybe it could have more content, (assumedly anyway) but persona 4s story has already been told and expanded upon. Aill get it for my love of the characters, and if I can't enjoy the current va's it really doesn't matter cause I can still engage with the version I prefer,say for example with chies original va. (What a Firecracker) even if they change dialogue with yusuke, to be honest I didn't care for him much so this literally changes nothing for me. Of course I don't like "censorship" but the game isn't even out so that's a nonsequiter to me. they change one scene to 18 lines for him instead of 23 or whatever. I will see cute chie and cutekiko and that's all that matters. I did see a portrait of nanako and I thought it looked odd for her character.. but maybe that was a reaction shot or something. Characters like Barret and Sephiroth are great examples.Persona really is just built different. The game already has pretty fleshed out characters and vocal performances. Any new additions to the story or characters are only cherries on top of such an already solid foundation. I'm connected to that cast of P4 characters in the same way as all of my other favorite RPG parties, including that new FFVIIR party.tldr; I like both approaches to remakes and I like them for totally different reasons, an FFVII remake that's just the same game again but with new graphics and voice acting would never mean as much. A completely grand and reimagined version of P4 would never make any sense, Persona has a very restrained scope.

now that i'm more than halfway into P2 i can say that this game is really testing your patience because your encounters possess a lot of AoE skills both elemental and ailment. it gets really annoying if you try to level up yourself by trying to defeat these guys but your lone spells barely do anything so you choose fusion spells but the problem is at some point the shadows outspeed you easily and when the turn comes you suddenly get some annoying ailments that hinder you to do fusion spells.

i found it coincidental P3-P5 dungeons are in a different dimension (well some P3 dungeons are still inside real world but not much) compared to P1-P2 where such a simple building end up being mazes full of trap doors and warping portal.P2's caracol genuinely frustrated me a bit, i could somewhat tolerated it's a pretty long dungeon for P2's standard but it's chockful of these trap floors that inanely halved your HP and SP bar. you'd think having a gameplay that does regenerate your SP bar is a blessing in disguise but at some point if you want to level up by doing the encounters, your action costs like 20-30 SP each, these encounters more often that not don't get killed in just a single action except if you use an instakill skill which is most of the time a miss. like okay you can negotiate your way out of them but there's still an encounter that's filled with humans and you can't negotiate your way out so you either have to fight them or escape (which also can fail a lot), and some of these human encounters possess sharpshooter skill that can one-shot you with a minimum failure rate.so before you get into a new dungeon, time to stock up some chewing soul because you need them a lot.

>>573802942anyway for those who do want to try P2, some of the tips i've gathered is1. get jack frost, level him up enough to get sonic punch, and then get another persona that has any wind spell, the result is the fusion spell called pegasus strike that can give like up to 1000+ damage with tarukaja BUT you also need to boost the shit out of your strength stats maybe along with dexterity. any bosses outside the longinus (which resists physical) can be cleared with just a handful of rounds with pegasus strike.2. for longinus it can be a bit of a pain because you also need to learn the fusion spells for AoE elemental skills, but it got trivialized as soon as you get your hand on seimei no abe who has summon spirits which can be paired to any elemental skills and it'll make deadly AoE elemental fusion spells.3. to get a very economic healing, gather a bunch of free cards to be turned into priestess cards (you cannot get this type of card from the shadows) and summon tensen nyannyan and you'll get mediarama at the cost of just 15 SP each. why not mediarahan? the lowest level of persona that possesses that skill is level 60 and you need to be in your level 50ish to be able to summon that. i think you can manage just fine with mediarama even until the final boss but you can correct me on that.
