I regularly posted auric lobbies during the arbites peak. Most of the time I got 0-1 other players, sometimes but very rarely 2-3. Either there isn't much interest, or my titles looked scary and filtered the insecure, or our general population is predominantly sub-auric and doesn't want to embarrass itself.
I've never had a schizo stalker, but I also never had a problem with coopg players in general, and I met a good couple dozen of them. There's obviously some weirdos on 4chan and this place isn't the exception, but out of the players I had, everyone was, at worst, fine to play with.
I try to make an effort to help others do private game penances and such, because they're a huge pain in the ass otherwise.

>>
>>573980048
>Also for all the bitching about randoms this game is much more fun when it's basically a solo experience with 3 anchors.
I don't feel this way at all, because carrying 3 worthless shitters isn't co-op, it's singleplayer with sub-sentient leeches. There are better singleplayer games out there. Just because I can solo an auric maelstrom doesn't mean I want to do that, and the average shitter is too brain fogged to even notice what's going on, so it's not like I can ego trip and put on a show when these retards are drooling over their tiktok phone screens instead of watching.

The problem is more the combination of
>players have gotten good at the game
>players have received a lot of power creep
>enemies did not keep up with the power creep
>after all of the above, auric is too easily soloed
but I'd much rather have a slightly harder game and actual teammates than 3 lost malicelets that perform worse than a bot.

Do people follow the thread so regularly though? I at least only occasionally peek whats being discussed and then see that 4 hours ago someone proposed hosting a match.
I would expect a lot of other posters are in a similar boat.
The thread would have to be nothing but group invites every 10 minutes for a suitable lobby to be available.
>>
>>573980303

>>
>>573980386
>Do people follow the thread so regularly though?
Most don't and that's okay, I wouldn't expect a lobby to instantly hit 4 players. But there was very little interest overall with people asking to join, even after getting a party of 2 together. I posted during different times, often made reminder posts between games, etc. and still struggled to get more than a couple regulars together. After a handful of posts over the span of 4 hours, I think I'd have acquired everyone that wants to play during that time, and I posted during all sorts of different times.

Funny story. I revisited the game like a year ago to see what had been changed.
There was the new stealth heist at a dock with multiple routes, vaults, armoured cars etc.
You could throw guards off the pier into the water which wouldnt activate their pagers. It was quite hilarious and they could be attracted with gunshots to come to the pier.

So of course the devs patched this mechanic. No fun allowed. You must only interact with the shit stealth mechanics and 2 pager limit. Stop having fun.

Haven't revisited after that. Being able to clear the map was the only time I had fun with stealth in Payday 3 and they just had to patch that out. Fuck them, fuck the shit stealth, fuck pager limits, fuck their prioritization for updates.
>>
>>573977508
Eh, it's different from mmoshits with a defined community. People only namedrop or make lists when they can gain (you)s from a circle that plays together literally every day. Drooling sword is serviceable in aurics but it absolutely doesn't cut it in havoc because it does fuckall damage to boss shields. It's bad for horde clear too, it's only good for activating weapon specialist. You can reload double barrelled shotgun with it, and clear hordes with that, and you will be fine in aurics. But clearing hordes with DS is a nightmare.
If you can survive ragers, shock maul is alright on a veteran. But it's hard to stagger them if you don't have hammerblow stacked (which can happen when you use ranged instead of your melee). I guess you will figure out if you can use it. It's alright to magdump ragers before they get to you, especially in aurics where ammo is not an issue.
If you can't survive ragers, devils claw is good. It easily staggers poxwolkers, so horde clear is good even if attack numbers on it a low, thanks to skullcrusher. Remember that on trash enemies skullcrusher works better when you spam light attacks, because stagger from separate attacks adds up. And when facing ragers, press parry to win.
Power sword is the strongest melee weapon in the game if you can manage activations.
Plasma is fucking dogshit, it wasn't great to begin with, and it was hit with multiple nerfs. Use bolt pistol or heavy laspistol, or recon lasgun, or double barrelled for a silly weapon specialist build.

>Plasma is fucking dogshit, it wasn't great to begin with, and it was hit with multiple nerfs
What the fuck are you using the plasma for, clearing havoc hordes? It still hits all of the breakpoints it did before the nerfs, meaning it snipes elites and specialists almost exactly as well, it just lost a bit of cleave, which it rarely if ever used to begin with.
The most painful nerf, by far, is the longer swap time, and that's manageable in havoc where you have actual teammates dealing with hordes.
Even suggesting DB shotgun is downright delusional with how hyper-specific making that build effective in h40 is.

But yes laspistol is better.

>It still hits all of the breakpoints it did before the nerfs

>it wasn't great to begin with

Cleave was the only thing it had, without cleave why even bother, just take a bolt pistol
>>
>>573985521
>I'm surprised people aren't pretending like the DS was hypernerfed
I think losing the overpowered special stun stab was a humongous nerf, and that the parry doesn't adequately replace it. The stab was half the reason I used it, so I've now abandoned it on most of my builds. Idc about the damage nerfs so much, it still performs exceptionally well in that role anyway.
The reason why nobody cares is because they never used the stun stab to begin with because they never knew, and will now never know.

>>573985615
>Cleave was the only thing it had, without cleave why even bother, just take a bolt pistol
Do you not know why the plasma gun is good? It has some of the highest base damage and best breakpoints out the gate without requiring much damage investment at all. Its usefulness lies in the opportunity cost of saving points in ranged damage investment, freeing up points you can now put in survivability or melee. Every other weapon has worse breakpoints and thus requires more investment to still kill scab and dreg gunners in a single headshot.

I think the cleave nerf was an earnestly good thing.
Plasma was never a bad weapon, I hated seeing it on literally every single pug havoc vet because if they used DS/plasma then I knew for an absolute fact they were going to be a stupid mouthbreathing retard who did nothing but magdump into hordes or carapace for some reason. Although vets are still just as retarded, low cleave weapons being popularized forced the average vet player to be slightly less retarded.

It is... utilitarian. It's absolutely stupid in terms of flat out damage up to Damnation. It falls off at Auric when you are using it the same way (boss killing), but it retains its effectiveness at deleting shit in front of you if you need to. It's also very easy to get stacks on, so the pure damage it provides is obvious. Where it falls off (in this use) is in Havoc where the damage it outputs isn't particularly great, but there is a trick. You can drop the horizontal and pick up the triple stab because they apply a bunch of bleeds. It should be obvious why that still makes the ability viable.

If you are trying to use it as a damage dealing boss deleter, it falls off hard. But it gains a new type of utility once that stops working. This seems to be the case with a lot of various parts of the Skitarii in terms of build and weapons. It's like the Arc Rifle. People don't see the true utility of it if they aren't doing Hi Int Auric or Havoc (especially Havoc), but once you do, you can immediately see why the Arc Rifle is absolutely monstrous.

>>573987673
Map geometry won't protect you after the net has been fired if the hitbox still intersects you, and it's somewhat bigger than the projectile would suggest. You can see the trapper go into its firing animation before you dodge, so you should have dodged left to get better clearance rather than seeking cover as conventional logic would dictate.
>but the flamers
That's what your gun is for. Shooting them all was the correct response here, with or without dodging. So it's player error. Better luck next time. Live and learn. Something about bootstraps.

>>573987749
Two flamers and a trapper would have taken more than one shot.

Hey anon. That's very cool. You're very good at this game. For context, I was specifically playing arabitrator to dogmax. I wanted to see how much I could rely on the dog to do most of the work. If you look at the ammo it's basically full because I'm trying to avoid using it, as a test. You are entirely correct that there are better ways to handle the situation.

Now back to the issue at hand. I made the webm in order to demonstrate how ridiculous the net can be. It's one of the most egregious examples I've experienced.

Am I supposed to be able to recognize the sound of a trapper shooting their net while in the middle of a horde with no visual and no previous indicators that a trapper was even spawned at all? I clipped the last time I got netted in a horde and I keep rewinding it and trying to see if I can actually hear it and it seems almost impossible over all the other sounds
>>
>>573989785
Their sound cues frequently gets drowned out by other enemy sounds
>>
>>573989785
You probably got hit by a net that wasn't intended for you. Specials that don't target you don't make sound, but they can still get you. Sound occlusion has also gotten pretty bad especially with poxbursters near silent around corners and suddenly loud when in your face.
>>
>>573989785
the game can only produce so many special spawn audio cues at a time
>>
>>573989994
>>573990138
I have a theory that while it may be a technical limitation, they could easily give trapper higher priority but they willingly choose not to because of their cohesion fetish.
>>
>>573990287
and that they hate the players
>>
>>573990287
It is a technical limitation.
The sound engine is just fucked and regularly craps the bed when there's too many enemies on the map.
It's just further evidence for the fact that Darktide was never meant to become as hectic as it is now.

After the shamans all killed themselves, they reincarnated as him, so he had parents and everything. He shows Ra the time he killed his uncle after learning with his bullshit powers that he'd murdered his father.

>He turned the skull once more, circling his thumb around the ragged hole broken into the bone. He didn’t need to close his eyes and meditate to know the truth. He didn’t need to pray for his father’s spirit to tell him what happened. He simply touched the hole in his father’s head, and at once he knew. He saw the fall of the bronze knife from behind; he saw his father fall into the mud; he saw everything that had happened leading to this moment in time.
>The boy who would be king rose from the floor of his family’s hut and walked out into the settlement, his father’s skull clutched in one hand.
>His barefooted walk took him unerringly to the home of his father’s brother. The man, darkened and hardened by his years in the fields, was sat outside the mud-brick hut, threading beads onto a string for his youngest daughter.
>The boy’s uncle uttered the sound that meant the boy’s name. In response to this greeting, the boy held up his father’s skull.
>Many centuries after these events, citizens of even civilised and advanced cultures would often misunderstand exactly what a myocardial infarction was. The savage, constricting pain in the chest was due to blood no longer flowing cleanly through the heart’s passages, causing harm to the myocardium tissue of the heart itself. Put simply, the core of a human being runs dry, trying to function with no oxygenated lubricant.
>This happened to the boy’s uncle when he set eyes upon the skull of his murdered brother.
>The boy who would be king watched with neither remorse nor any particular hostility. He looked on as his uncle slid from his crouch onto the mud, clutching at his treacherous chest.

Viable yes, overpowered no.
It's very nice to have a shield for gunners when you use shock maul or crusher as your primary. Special executes a strong push just like shield+maul push.
But it can't exploit ammo pickups, arbites shotty generates a lot of free special ammo from ammo tins.
If ammo isn't a concern, it's good for sniping and has good unyielding damage. It's A-tier and shotty only beats it because of ammo exploit.

The shotgun also beams entire hallways, whether you aim it at shoulder level, or kneecap level (against groups of maulers). Nothing in arbitrator's ranged slot competes with it, as far as generic auric performance goes. The shield pistol is nice because it's a shield but you really feel the atrocious ammo in havoc.

Aurics usually kraks, shout and combat shotgun.

>>
>>574000935
NTA but exec stance is very strong and a good exec stance vet is great. You deal with shooters by shooting them dead before they get to shoot, instead of shouting, and it has a huge damage multiplier.
Shout is generally better and has broader appeal.
Trench shitters wipe without shout crutchie so they can't fathom stance being useful. Remember that most opinions about havoc are from trench shitters or salty ASSlets that got filtered.

Have you played havoc? Something like 70% of psykers I see are bubblecucks, some 50% I see use the brittleness meme blessing on their staff, and even out of those that use the good shriek build, over half of all psykers are still dogshit players.
Psyker may have the worst havoc players overall because it's such an easy auto-include, causing less diligent players to carry them beyond where they belong.

>>
Switching from Skitty to Arby in my ASS run really made me realize just how much utility a Servo Skitty brings into the average Auric match.
>>
>>574002819
Arbitrator thankfully still has it easy. If you take all of the sources of passive (or over time) toughness regen + Forceful's stun immunity with the dog keeping your stacks up, you can brute force your way through most objectives before poxers break you out of Adamant Will, or deal any relevant damage to your health.
>>
>>574002992
Yeah the main benefit out of Arby was that I could not die, but I really fucking hated having to clutch and solo a Plague Ogryn while getting swarmed because apparently that monster in particular wipes Auric randoms (it happened thrice with 3 separate teams).
>>
Does the game slowdown spawns when players go down/someone has to clutch, or is it just the gamer gene kicking in?
>>
>>574003338
>I really fucking hated having to clutch and solo a Plague Ogryn while getting swarmed
Get yourself a Full Bore shotgun with unyielding on it, those are the best blessing and perk for both shotguns anyway since they let you 2-tap unarmored ogryns in the face. Gets you big boss damage as long as you aim for the weakspot. Make sure you have Soulguilt.
Alternatively run a boltgun. I still think using it to magdump is fucking retarded, but arbitrator is actually the best class at doing so, and it's not half bad.

Scattershot obviously goes on, but so does Full Bore. Strength is a better stat than damage, and is always active against monsters. I would sure hope you don't have trouble hitting every pellet on a single enemy every 5 seconds.

>>574004769
I already got my ASS so I'm back to Skitty, but thanks for the Arby tips. Anyways, what's the difference between strength and damage?
>>
>>574005308
damage increases damage
strength increases damage, cleave, impact, stagger
>>
>>574005008
It's genetic.
>>
>>574005308
Strength stacks additively with itself
Damage stacks additively with itself
Strength and damage stack multiplicatively with each other (and some other stats)
Arbitrator typically stacks a lot of strength. +20% damage doesn't translate to a 20% increase in damage, the math is not in your favor.
Arbitrator typically doesn't stack strength high enough to overcome this discrepancy. In fact, strength isn't that easy to come by.
Strength also increases cleave, which the shotgun is notoriously EXTREMELY GOOD AT, and you cannot possibly get enough of. You want more strength for more cleave on that thing, at all times. It's part of why Forceful is so broken with it in auric.
>>
>>574005474
>Arbitrator typically stacks a lot of strength
A lot of damage*, my bad.

Most shotgun reloads can be animation cancelled, which saves a split second between when you finish inserting the shell, and when the game allows you to sprint or fire.
Animation cancelling the combat shotgun special reload saves more time than usual, and it's also possible to cancel the recoil animation.
>fire (most likely special shell that you pre-loaded)
>immediately swap away and back
>load special shell
>as soon as the ammo goes up by 1, swap away and back
This technically lets you fire faster than the game can internally reset recoil, so your bullet may come out above your crosshair if you time it too well.
Most of the time save comes from One Motion and Tactical Reload.
The crusher meme is just MF rending + Rending Strikes that I was messing around with to try and hit plasma one-shots and mauler two-shots. With piss vision.

On the subject of theorycrafting vet, what further optimizations would vet players here make to this build?

Assume One Motion + Tactical Reload are core to the build, to support the combat shotgun.
Assume Rending Strikes and all of Marksman's Focus are core to the build, to hit breakpoints with the combat shotgun.

I feel like I want either of the top shoulder nodes for more toughness generation, as that's usually my biggest worry with vet. On the other hand, piss vision is a constant trickle of toughness now so maybe not?
Maybe trade Bring It Down! for Tunnel Vision to supercharge my piss vision toughness generation?
I wonder if Born Leader may be worth it, but I don't really have a point to spare, and Demo Team is obviously non-negotiable.

They'll probably one of the most fun factions, too, if you enjoy micro. Getting the most out of Tau means optimally positioning your battlesuits and then having them jump out of the way before reprisal fire or enemy melee can kill them, in addition to having your markerlight units set up kills for heavy-hitter ranged units.

The Imperium tried to go for an "Easy Win" and wipe the xenos out around the time the Tau were doing their Second sphere of expansion (they're now on their fifth). It ended indecisively, which one would argue means it favors the Tau.
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Damocles_Crusade

At this point, the Tau have gotten more advanced and better at long-range space travel. However, they're worryingly close to causing a mini-DAOT upon themselves.

I should add to this, the Imperium thought it would be an "Easy Win" with:
>A fleet that was likely over 100 ships (including escorts and non-Navy Astartes ships)
>A half-dozen astartes chapters partially or completely committed to the crusade
>A Titan Legio
>Several Guard regiments
And it turned out they still vastly underestimated the Tau's numbers and capability. I'm sure that to an Imperial's eyes, the only enemy that can equal the Tau's ability to build and expand would be the Greenskins. The Tyranids are more like fighting a force of nature so they don't really count there.

They were actually a lot less naive than you'd think in regards to space travel - the first alien species they ever encountered after reaching the space age was the Orks, and they nearly went extinct because of them, inventing the pulse rifle as a means of overkill. Then they encountered orks, again, and then *again*, and they realized the galaxy was an extremely dangerous place, and that's why they're so eager to accept other species into their fold. Most of their naivete is instead about the warp, in which aspect they're a lot like the early imperium

Yeah, you can stack a lot of cleave on the thing but cleave isn't the only stat that matters. You have to be able to kill carapace/flak enemies occassionally and the best you can do to do that is apply bleed stacks with the rev, which is too finicky to attempt.

It used to apply all the bleed stacks on the first tap so you could dodge out of it. But kind Fatshark fixed it, so now you have to go through the entire rev attack to get all the bleeds :)

You can make chainswords work well in Auric on Zealot with FOTF, because FOTF lets you one-shot crushers (i think). But you're still better off just taking the eviscerator in that case.
Imo, all chain weapons should serious rending buffs to their rev attacks.

Chaos Marine
>>
>>574024842
Chaos is probably the low hanging fruit because they can reuse a lot of assets from the fantasy total war which already has all 4 chaos factions. Pretty much all of the demons should be the same, for instance. Though lore wise I'm not sure how would they justify all those demons outside of the warp.

Mechanicus, Necrons and Nidders will probably arrive before T'au I think because T'au are a bit obscure in the general spectrum of things, meanwhile those 3 are iconic so they should bring more people.

I'm not sure sisters of battle would be an entire exclusive faction
>>
>>574025765
>Though lore wise I'm not sure how would they justify all those demons outside of the warp
They don't really need to in the same way it's almost impossible for daemons to exist long term in the mortal world in warhammer fantasy outside of exceptional conditions but you can still just march your daemon armies around anywhere you want in total war warhammer.

They are maximal. Ogryn is the best shooty class, competing with psyker. The weapon selection can get weird at times, and the twin stubber isn't as good as you would wish it to be, but it's solid and strong in auric. One can play the game and read the books, it's not an either/or thing.
The problem comes from those who try to argue from a perspective where their baseline is the named protagonists of heroic fiction. You'll see this often when they balk at the concept of the average space marine dying to anything that can actually kill a space marine.
Even in the fiction, the average unnamed space marine dies quite a bit to many things, but some of those people will dismiss it as being "inconsistent" despite it being consistent with the primary source whereas the actual inconsistency is the heightened feats of the protagonist (but that's just what protagonists do so it's not a problem for anyone.)

Any marine hit by these will just dodge it before the reject shitter even gets close.
And even if they manage to land a hit, the marine will just instantly shrug it off and then shoulder check the reject shitter in square in the chest cracking their ribs + spine.

Also all of this is entirely assuming the marine will get anywhere near the reject shitters in the first place and wouldn't just shoot every single one of them down from 500+ meters away with his boltgun anyway. Headshotting all of them, insta killing every single one.

This is also just true. Space Marines are not immobile tanks. Original mkII, use regular shots most of the time. Use the charged shot to hit things through walls (best combined with a way to see enemies through walls) or alpha strike a patrol.
Optimised Cooling (which is actually a heat reduction) combined with Focused Cooling will let you get ~15 shots off before needing the vent.

I'm quite enjoying it on the Skitarii ranged build removing the need to reload it.

Some guys do "retire" by way of promotion to a job that doesn't require them to be fighting. Someone has to "guard" the Chapter's homeworld, right? Maybe oversee recruitment elsewhere depending on how they recruit. Ensure that logistics and needs of the chapter are properly being met. Act as an emissary for the chapter. Etc. Etc. These dudes exist, they are mentioned frequently if you think about what they actually do, they just don't have books dedicated to them because it's hard to make a story focused on that sort of thing.

Space Marines are repeatedly getting fucked by necrons now that they have started to wake up properly, even Rowboat Girlyman totally underestimates their strength and ends up getting most of the first part of the Indomitus Crusade Fleet annihilated. And this even before the Plague Wars in Ultramar.
>>
>>574051063
I finally tried the devil's claws on my new psyker character and now I wish there was some way to have damnation or auric intensity but with malice enemy type distribution, so that I can fight large numbers of soft targets and have fun with the choppy chop sword and dakka dakka guns

instead it's all fucking flak and carapace so you can't bring the actually fun weapons
>>
>>574051063
I would 100% always rather have paired blades over either combat knife on skitarii.
I don't think the Mechanicus sword is very good at all. The moveset is awkward and you can't move quickly while holding a charged special attack, taking away a lot of its utility.
>>
>>574051479
That’s changed though. He now recognizes their strength and has given his blessing to Cawl to try to reverse engineer their tech despite all the heresy that necessitates. Of course the necrons even in their shattered state are overall superior to imperial forces in general.

It'd be pretty cool if they threw a death guard plague marine up against us and went all in on power scaling them past current monstrosities. Literally just make them the biggest threat to a run imaginable, I won't be happy unless the whole team has a collective Oh Fuck moment when the sound cue for one starts.
>>
>>574051892
You do get they are constantly foreshadowing Guilliman's arrogance will lead to his actual death or his corruption right? There's no way there is a 'happy ending' for the regent, he's already concerning people around him by taking the speculation of his own godhood seriously, being reliant on the eldar for both his armor/their prophetic abilities, and the Remembrancer Fabian finding the secret history of Imperium Secundus which could seriously imperil his position with the already strained relations with the custodes and highlords of terra.

for a realistic space marine encounter you just get your head exploded without warning because they rely on superior tactics, speed, reflexes and aim before anything else. if you can actually nail one with a heavy weapon or krak grenade he's still fucked but the point is he's better at warfare than you so 99 times out of 100 he'll get the drop on you and make it count

that's why powerscaling them is retarded. yeah in a straight up fight a space marine with a regular ass bolter loses to a lascannon-equipped leman russ. but they're not standing out in the open and waiting to be shot, they're elite shock troops who rely on speed and violence of action to not give their enemies any chances.

What does that have to do with anything I said? It’s still true that he understands the threat they’re up against. There’s enough impressive showings that they can be argued to be the average in the fiction. They aren’t invincible of course but they’re certainly frequent enough that they’re formidable and clearly not the Guardsman adjacent infantry some here seem to be imagining them to be. Talking about and trying to bring the tabletop into the conversation muddles things because they’re very much different things due to one having to be fair and balanced and the other being able to show these things without these concerns as >>574039843 has shown. the problem is that retards like >>574053701 do not understand the concept of special forces or elite troops or shock troops. they can be both utterly dominant in certain types of scenarios and still vulnerable to weapons that are common in the setting.

delta force will absolutely rape just about any kind of regular military on the planet when they're staging a surprise raid operation with clear goals and limits, and they will get shredded by regular flip flop durkas with DShKs if they get caught with their pants down in the open trying to assault a trench over open ground or some shit

slightly less optimal damage, but much stronger gimmick and more convenient for most people who didn't like constantly activating it. Fatshark doesn't like money. They have shown that to be the case over and over. They care about doing just enough to keep the lights on. You can line up almost every instance of them doing something that the player base actually wants following a period where they did something the playerbase didn't want and so they aren't making enough money to keep the lights on. Look at how poorly the Scum sold compared to the Arbites. It did bad, it didn't make them enough money, so they sighed and probably cursed us all while claiming to know better than we do and created the Skitarii. Since the Skitarii assuredly outsold both the Arbites and Scum combined, they now have enough money to go do something retarded again, ignoring the playerbase.

Whether or not you want it, the player base wants Sister of Battle as a class. Luckily for you, because they fucked up so badly with Scum, you won't see SoB for at least a year when they are starting to go broke again after whatever retarded class they release next is received poorly and they continue to work on Mortis and Expeditions (as we know they are dedicated to doing). Three retard moves in a row, worryingly low player count, and the Skitarii money is gone. Time to push out the SoB!

There is an interview with someone senior at Fatshark, talking about DLC classes, from before any were released.
Speaking in vagaries he said:
>they had a short list of 3
>the one the team was most passionate about was planned to be released first
>but GW instructed them to move another one to the 1st release
We now know what those 3 classes were. Scum was the team's passion and Arbites was GW's desire.

I don't think they are going to stop at 3 DLC classes, they are simply too profitable, but they are done with their short list now.

I think it was only a handful that cared enough to seethe about it. Others were in a mix of "Oh!" and "Eh.". Me, I gave it a chance and the leveling was fucking awful. But once I maxed out my Scum I had a good time.

Arbitest and Scum do make better sense for where we're fighting at. But Skitarri is there for the fans and I get it and won't complain.

I'd only shake my head if they did do something Space Marine related because it just means Fat Shark and GW caved to the loudest nerds.

Basically guaranteed because Creative Assembly are massive whores and will milk the 40k franchise until the cows come home.
That's what they already did with Total Warhammer Fantasy; literally who factions like Cathay, Chords, and the Vampire Coast got in just to make even more $$$.

Your only concern is how long you'll have to wait, because admittedly they might only be added towards the end

It's just short of an actual certainty going by how Total Warhammer went, we'll be seeing DLCs and sequels for the next decade or more.

I agree with that, I still don't think they'd fold over quite as easily as some believe but in the right context they could definitely die to enough of even something ‘mundane’

>or follow up on hints given in any of the books ever
I mean this does happen though. It’s one of their primary ways to keep the story forward. It doesn’t happen with every instance, but the pattern is usually for an author to allude to some plot point or mystery and leave just enough wiggle room for them or someone else to pick up on later. I do agree that Guilliman is here to stay though.

When I heard him on the release of The Carnival maps, I wanted him on every mission. They tried it again with Dragor, but it doesn't work because Dragor only has one schtick which is him yelling at a guy who may or may not be dead and it doesn't make sense for him to show up on various missions since he's in a fucking Leman Russ. Put Sefoni on more missions too, and remove the undesireables. Now that I think about it, they should add new characters in every mission like Dragor or Kay-ex where you don't need to make models for them. Just record some lines for a few missions, make a character portrait, and see if the community likes them. If they don't, rotate them out. If they do, record more lines for that character and add them to more missions.

They collectively ate 4 bursters to the face before 2 minutes, and bursters became this minigame where I ran the fuck away from them awaiting a teammate going down (it happened every other time)
>the first casualty was 4 minutes in
Snowrune named skitter of course.
We got to the bridge section at ~6 minutes, I just sat pretty at the bend not wanting to cross bridge 2/3 because a pack master spawned. My 3 retards ran ahead, got cornered, and died :^) I spent over a minute sitting at the same corner of the bridge just firing my gun and eating my ammo crate until the spawns died down.
12 minutes in they still haven't learned that hugging bursters is a bad idea.
The end result was pretty predictable. None of them did anything and I had more damage combined than the entire team.

I feel bad for carrying them to the W because not a single one of these retards belonged in auric.
