Two things are true at once: Yana is getting approval from both Disney JP and from Disney HQ, but also the content on JP is being rewritten for EN. That means that Disney HQ looked at Book 4 and went "Yes, this story about a servant longing for freedom to the point it breaks his mind is perfectly acceptable for JP, and when we release it on EN we'll have them redo it so as not to offend delicate American sensibilities." It's like they're approving and rejecting the same content at the same time.But then there's also stuff like how they fucked up Trey and Riddle's backstory so badly that they had to go back and retcon their own changes. That's doesn't sound like the work of a company that has approved both the real storyline and approved the Twst4Kids version. I am real suspicious of how much influence/oversight Disney HQ actually has. They approved Sam's design for JP only to reject him for EN, resulting in significant changes to sprites, advertising and art like the 4th year grim groovy? >>576659768Im not fishpilled or scarapilled and objectively agree ch4 was made better with Octa, it's the reveal of them larping as boss and underling, how funny they were in annoying Jamil and how they dealt with his ob too it was all so good and a much better way of writing the 'previous dorm helps with the current arc' concept than ch1 and 2. That was a big reason why I think people were disappointed and even angry at Deuce in ch5 because Jamil and Kalim didn't really do much and were pushed to the background by Hearts characters. They made sure to write the previous dorm better in the next one in ch6 and Vil and Pomefiore became super based again

Ortho's seiyuu taking credit for both Orthos singing in the Igni song is wild. Like I don't doubt him, I believe it, it's just nuts that he had such an influence on it. I bet the song composer and Yana were like "oh my god how did we not think of that."
