Why is this franchise basically obligated to have a comic book series? If IDW goes under or that series gets canceled, why can't they just not make another comic? Also, now that Blade of Courage exists, they could just keep that going as long as it sells. Manga is more popular than comics overseas now anyway, it would probably actually make some money if it gets translated unlike IDW which is basically a SoA pet project. Mario, for example doesn't have an ongoing comic series, Zelda and Pokemon are just fine with manga only.

The problem with IDW OCs like Tangle and Whisper is they don't have anything to them.Whisper is in a corner because her only "thing" is her sadsack backstory making her the way she is. So the only thing you can do is have her get better.
