Krusie relies way more on vibes than actual text. Kris is practically impossible to read because of the player/mystery surrounding them, and Susie's emotional arc is overwhelmingly centered on Noelle. Just because Kris and Susie are the main duo doesn't automatically make them romantic. Most of their development works perfectly well as two lonely kids becoming genuine friends. Compared to how explicit Noelle's feelings are, Krusie feels mostly fan projection.
