I raided at the bleeding edge progression curve. So whenever I ran dungeons, I ran dungeons like that, too. You don't stop before groups to stare at them, you don't wait after they died to look at their corpses or whatever noobs do. You pull as many groups as you can tank, and then you pull more when the first ones are about to die, never dropping combat. But also: I have an extra frame for my healer and their mana. If I see my healer go below 30% mana, I'll let them regen some. If I see my DPS can't burn down large groups effectively, I pull a group or two fewer. If I see my entire group is outside a boss room that gets closed off when we start (I don't think that exists any more) I wait a second. I start at 100% effort, and lower it to what my group can handle. I don't fucking yell at someone with blue/green gear, to move their ass, or threaten to kick them. Even IF they are slow as shit.

You do some smaller events, split off and kill mobs and do tasks in different parts of the map, then eventually the big bad spawns and you kill it, gives a ton of rift essence 3x a week. Hey guys, I just got back into gw2 today. Feel completely lost, don't know how to do anything now. I used to play mesmer, dual swords, greatsword, scepter+torch. I remember using illusions to mess with enemies a fair amount while range-dpsing them, turning invisible, letting illusions hit them to drop their life. How do I figure out what mesmer builds are viable? I'm not even sure for what at this point.
