pvp is pretty fun and its faster than classic and really easy to pick up doesn't really take that long to gear up with how cheap the crafted gear is, just do the weeklies for conquest and get the daily bonus from the quick matches it took like 40 AV losses in a row to gear my mage in classic but retail is so fast

arena would become more popular overnight if the pace of the game slowed down. my theory is that fast games are too stressful for newer players and they won't play for long enough to get used to the speed. the level of frustration in this game is very similar to what people experience when they play fighting games, and for the same reason: the game is very fast and overwhelming.older versions of pvp were more popular partly because of this, partly because there was a large twitch community surrounding pvp (sodapoppin, reckful). once those streamers moved on, a lot of the casual audience that used to pvp moved on with them and newer players find the pace of the modern game too uncomfortable to play. note that when I mean pace, I am not talking about how long games last/how high the damage is, but rather the amount of actions that players can (have) to make. this is happens because of a combination of extremely high mobility on all classes as well as infinite resources allowing you to press buttons every gcd. if there was more downtime during matches, automatically the game would be more popular I think.

Healers is a big issue with wow pvp. A role dedicated to being a buzz kill pretty much.The other issue is it's too safe. Probably because it trys too damn hard to be esports. Everything is orderly. You aren't meant to win consistently in 2v1s. It's "perfectly" balanced. You deviate too far from what you are meant to do and you get obliterated. Pvp shouldn't feel like a script.Where is the chaos? I want crazy scenarios to happen that require you to think on the spot instead of just following the script every match. Not too much chaos that victory would be up to chance (fuck Mario party). Just enough so it doesn't grow repetitive.Imagine siege tanks having a chance to spawn at both teams home base on arathi basin. Instantly becomes more fun. Death pits opening up in arenas after a brief warning. Crate drops with powerful buffs to fight over in the center on each map. Let people win 5v1 if they have the skill to do it. Right now you only win that if those 5 guys have no cds and are mentally impaired. You won't win cause you won't have any tools to deal with them. Strength should come from the player, not cds.

I watched a preach video on the world first race and half the comments say how this degenerate playstyle with 30 characters is dumb and only bad for the game. Every other game is able to have a standarized gear process to go into new content and not this.
