On the other hand, darkness is associated with sound, particularly music, like chapter 4's sound-based puzzles in total darkness, Shadowguys being music element, etc. "In this land, only eyes blinded by darkness can see the way," you have to close your eyes and let the music take you away. The chapter bosses all have no eyes or, in the case of Flowery, closed eyes. The party member icons for the Lightners all have obfuscated eyes. Ralsei is both an exception and not, as he has glasses which increase eyesight while obfuscating what his eyes look like without them. Perhaps it's meant to represent him being in an in-between state, like Flowery's closed eyes that open towards the end of the chapter. Or perhaps it's because Ralsei always looks towards the light, the player, despite being tied to the dark. Also Berdly loses his glasses in the dark world. Not sure how that fits into it.

Going to be weird going from the vague allusions and foreshadowing of the first 5 chapters to getting actual answers in the last two. At some point Ralsei is just going to say what he is. We'll probably fight the FRIEND cats. We'll know the whole story of Dess's incident. Hell we'll probably be addressed directly at some point by Ralsei and Susie as the soul.I really hope Mr. Tobias can write these big moments as well as he can write vague references to them.
