When you give me a game that's just the tedious account maintenance without the story to hold it up it becomes miserable.I also really like that FGO has such a variety of character designs and art. Most gacha have this unified art style with all the rough edges sanded off and it's all just so dull and samey. Chinese gacha are especially fucking bad for that. Meanwhile in FGO designs range from cute girls to saggy older women to monsters to whatever the fuck is going with Tez's 3rd ascension. There are some misses in with the hits but that's exactly what makes it so much more interesting than a game where every single character is a babyfaced titcow with plump thighs or a sameface teenager in a seifuku differentiated entirely by their hair.

It would be one thing if that design was just an avatar, like with Tiamat's "femme fatale" form. But when that's literally just their combat form as a Beast it feels too unimaginitive. Beasts should abandon their recognizably human form to do battle, Tiamat and Beast 666 fulfill that the best I think and Koyanskaya was acceptable if a little... odd.
