People keep calling *Lesson in Love* "just another teacher harem VN" and I swear none of them have actually read either it or *The Tale of Genji* because the comparison gets more cursed the longer you think about it. Both are basically about one impossibly magnetic but deeply broken man whose existence slowly warps the lives of everyone around him, where every new romance isn't about collecting girls but exposing another piece of the protagonist's psyche. *Genji* used court politics, poetry and the passing of seasons to show the loneliness of a man who could never truly connect with anyone, while *Lesson in Love* replaces all of that with depression, recursive timelines, fourth-wall breakdowns and whatever eldritch psychological torture the author cooked up this update. They're both stories that stop being about plot after a while and become this giant web of relationships where every conversation gains meaning fifty hours later and every character reflects another part of the main character's failures. It's like someone locked Murasaki Shikibu in a room with Visual Novels, Evangelion, Murakami, creepypasta and twenty years of internet-induced brain rot and somehow she came out writing the same novel all over again except now reality itself is having a schizophrenic episode instead of the Heian court.

I asked AI to summarise in 4chanHe basically says everyone calling it a "one-shot MTL slop" completely misunderstood the project. He didn't dump White Album 2 into GPT and ship whatever popped out he built an autistic translation factory with 70k+ indexed lines, separate corpora, context databases, character voice maps, callback tracking, literary analysis, audio transcription, bilingual editing, validation scripts, audits, and playtesting before anything even touched the game. AI did the grunt work, but he claims every stage was chained together under strict rules so it wouldn't hallucinate or flatten the writing. Gambs was basically the hype man screaming "GPT IS THE MESSIAH" on /vn/, while this guy insists the actual pipeline, policies, editing, and final responsibility were all his. His whole thesis is that nobody should care whether humans or machines wrote it judge the patch on whether it dunks on Todokanai TL. If his AI translation is worse, he says the project failed. If it's better, then congratulations, a schizoid with an AI sweatshop just mogged a decade-long fan translation.
