The Wheel has turned once again

Dominions is a fantasy turn-based war game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.
The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 3400 units, 1100 spells and 400 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them. It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.
Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a war game.

>>574504408
It is easy. You figure out what every race and race theme does first (like how Advanced and Imperial humans have chance to recruit Sleepers and demi-ghouls) then you pick the unit filter you like that compliments them and you make 12 iterations of that preset. Save the seed of the good ones and once you have 20+ good ones you make a Nationgen with all of those seeds at once

This, real /domg/ veterans can foresee the future up to 100 turns ahead from just looking at the open game page in their browser. >FINAL BATTLE OF THE ARENA
Ur vs Muspelheim was a surprisingly tame yet very effective display of magic. Muspel had some early success, but the huskarls decided to run in circles chasing Howl wolves, and the giants weren't able to carve through Ur's troops fast enough. Foul vapors did the rest.
Ubar tore through what was left of Ur in an instant. An overwhelming amount of evocations (I didn't know Storm and Fire Storm could be active at once!) that targeted directly Ur's mages ended the battle within a few turns.
But again, as ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME BEFORE, Abysia arrived right after Ubar to the arena with an anti-Ubar bless and tore them a new one. I didn't know Heat from Hell could be active TWICE at once, one from a mage of each side! Ubar's army literally melted away after just a few rounds. I think it's the camel riders who initiated the rout. Or the camels. The riders were gone.
Caelum matched Abysia's "MORE EVOCATIONS" approach. The buffed mammoths held out surprisingly long. Caelum's pretender cast a few excellently aimed rounds of Niefel Flames that erased a half of Abysia's mages and earned victory. Yet, the Corruptor and some Annointed of Rhuax with heavy equipment survived a while longer. They didn't cause too much damage, but the routing mammoths and wrathful skies did obliterate most of Caelum's mage lineup once the battle seemed all but won.
Still, the handful of mages left were enough to repel Tirnanog's army, mostly thanks to an extremely well placed Lightning Field that obliterated all of the elven infantry in a single cast.
Vanheim brought a lot more firepower and lightning resistant cavalry. Caelum tried the Lightning Field play again but it didn't play out this time, and they were swiftly defeated.
Mictlan arrived last, with a boatload of blood slaves and summoning horrors. Yet again, the horrors decided to stick around and mostly ate Mictlan's own mages while the elves focused down the jaguar warriors.

5 points for Vanheim!
>>

>>574564247
And so the arena concludes: with the 5 points of the final battle, Vanheim climbs up to 10 and places himself right over the arena's favorite.
A clear lead and a clear, if tight and probably kinda lucky, victory.

Congratulations to the victor!
>>

This was the first great Pankoman's Arena. I thank you all for joining this little experiment of mine, it was quite fun. It might have also been first /domg/ game where no one went AI or started stalling until the very last turn.

The second edition, Pankoman's Arena MA, will start in about two weeks. It'll feature about the same rules, possibly with a couple tweaks like adding a gemgen/gem permanence mod.
Once again, I invite everyone who was bitching in the thread about how they'd quickly win and how no one was playing correctly to join in and show us how it's done.
https://hinaserver.net/game/79

-----

There was very little feedback, but to address what there was:
>we should use some kind of gem permanence or gemgens mod, it's too easy to run out of gems in the first one or two battles when you still have to possibly fight more in the arena
Agreed, it kinda breaks the game and makes arriving last be even stronger than it should. I'll be adding something of that sort.
>killing lots of troops should give points
While I understand the frustration, it didn't seem that horde/skellyspam based nations did better than few-but-strong nations. In fact, quite the opposite. This rule would only make horde nations gift free points to few-but-strong nations. I don't think it's a good change.
>>

I've got so many Research goals in the early game I don't think I could spear also going Alt 3 for Gift of Cat Eyes and Undead aren't easy for me to access.

So I'm left with playing it safe and slow as >>574563109 suggests. Hopefuly the first provience at the entrance isn't Troggolodytes, again.

Releated, this was an AI attacking Indies and how do 40 Sacred Enki troops get beaten by 40 Ko-Onis? It was a dark cavern so I figured that was the reason but I can't really be sure especially with that big of a difference. I can also post a screen of the battle or footage of it.

>>574566242
Can consider it. I was playing Mictlan so I mostly used blood slaves, and I still felt short on gems. A few more will probably be helpful, but I also really like this aspect of having to pick what you go for. 6-7 provinces per player instead of 5 should be fine.

>>574566986
There's a couple nature items that give supply, and every nature mage also adds a few points for free just by being there. Have commanders carry them to feed your army. Note that they stack but not if two of them are held by the same commander: if you have two Cauldrons, you'll have to give them to two different guys.
There's also items (gatecleaver) and spells (crumble I think) to take down sieged forts faster. You can also bring other troops: mindless help less, flyers help more. Undead don't eat so you can throw as many as you need into the siege.
And there's also the good old strategy of letting the fort be with just enough siegers to kill whatever you think is inside, and marching on with the rest of your army to conquer the rest of his shit.

Any chronics to share? Some people seemed to have interesting plans going on.
I tried going all in on vampire lords with the idea of attacking the arena every turn with the same army, but it just didn't pan out. Took too long, I couldn't get enough slaves, and Agartha's mad gods ate most of my patrollers so I had to stop for a few turns too. And by the time I had 5 or 6 vampires, everyone was fielding advanced magic and no one gave a shit about them anymore. I also was shy with them, because I feared that the mad gods might show up at the arena and eat their souls, which would counter the immortality.
Tried pivoting to horrors, but that's more of a fire and retreat thing than something to help you win a battle so it didn't work much either.
My bless was a bit of a mess, too. I went for strong resistances, Unholy Weapons and Unbearable Splendour, which I always wanted to try out. My plan was to go for the early arena points by challenging awake pretenders with the thread of death or blindness, but turns out no one went for an akawe pretender so it fell flat.
At least I still won two points

THE DUEL ARENA HAS STARTED

This will be a guided match, so please follow the instructions carefully. I'll be sending reminders in game.
First thing, we're an odd number, so I'll declare myself Master of the Pit and head straight there.

Here's the process:
>this turn, set your research to Construction 9, one 999999 mage to patrol, and send a few more around as scouts so you can see battles
>I'll autohost 10 turns
>another turn to set research goals
>10 more turns autohost so all gods wake up and all research is done
>3 turns prep
>the fighting starts
The fighting procedure is simple. When I give the order, everyone advance one position to the right. I'm second from the top so ignore me: Bandar Log and Ulm go to the tree arena, Muspelheim and Agartha go to the Oasis arena, and so on.
The following turn, whoever won each duel moves to the corresponding "rest room" right of the arena. Losers who survive MUST head straight to the Pit, without a rest turn.
The following turn, everyone marches to the corresponding second arena. Two fighters to one arena, I think it's obvious where you're supposed to go. Again, anyone who loses but survives must go straight to the Pit.
Anyone who loses but survives in the Pit must head immediately back to the Pit, without pauses.
Then again one turn marching to the rest rooms, and one turn marching into the final arena. Once a champion has been declared, the last one standing in the Pit gets a chance to climb out and face the champion in the arena for a chance to steal the title.

This effectively means that the winners will always be moving ahead, one step every turn. In order to swap out their items you will need to have scouts already waiting, and use the send gems/send items spells to airdrop things. And you probably want scouts so that you can see what your future opponents are doing.

This was quite lucky for me, I don't know if what I brought could have endured Ubar's saved up mass. I did fight C'tis, Agartha, Lanka and Kailasa after this offscreen but they had similar results to the last fight here. My general plan of "stay 4 points behind the leader then lunge ahead on the final battle" worked out great though.
>>574568387
I figured due to the low prov count and short game duration that hellblessed caponlies would do best here over trying to scale up, so I picked Vanheim and dumped everything to afford counter-blessing against anything I could think of from evos to darkness to ethereal to leprosy spam. I took a few good points, stealthed away from the arena each time to dodge Ubar's swarm of seducers and built up my big mages to stack a dozen battlewides for durability and chaff generation for the time my all-in wincon was here.
>>
How do people actually play freespawn nations, aside from Asphodel which gets so busted it kind of plays itself? I used to think Ermor/Lemuria are super hard to fight, but whenever I try them in sp I have no idea how to make them even expand. And stuff like LA squids and Therodos are a complete mystery ( well in theory therodos is supposed to be thug/sc nation, but getting there seems difficult).
>>
>half of the map in the vanilla MA game is water
May as well just say that R'lyeh won this one and start next
>>
>>574574834
Therodos is actually easy to expand with, as long as theres no indies with magic weapons (very rare)
You just collect everything that spawns every 2 turns and throw them out. Ethereal units stomp most indies as long as they aren't horrifically outnumbered.
Therodos's problem is that opposing water nations can and will kill them in the crib with superior water income/mages and knowledge ahead of time to take magic weapons bless
>>
>>574574402
>the 999999 mages can be used ONLY as scouts, to craft items, and to heal your pretender from wounds (should you get the chance)
Meaning anything not listed is not a valid use, including preaching.
If you cast wolven winter in some province to tweak the scales in your favor, no one's gonna notice you did. But if there's suddenly 30 of your candles all over the place and you domkill one or two other players, that's gonna stand out.

You don't need to send that many ahead, a couple on turn 20something will do. You just need one dude by each duel to see your future opponents, assuming you win your first duel, and another one one accompanying the pretender once you go out.
Can also recruit some scouts. You've got 20 turns to mass produce them.

To be honest, I kinda threw this one together and didn't give it that much thought. I don't really see a reason why not to, I just didn't think of it.
It's also something that I can't watch for without entering into each profile and it's neither direct aggression nor does it stop duels from happening or directly weaken someone or stop them from fighting their matches in fair conditions, so at worst it falls in the "cheating is allowed, getting caught isn't" category.

Got a lot of travel for work right now. Dominions and roguelikes are about the only thing that play in my little personal travel laptop.
A nice little bit of home while away, while watching some bullshit in picture-in-picture mode.
Usually I stick to 3 plus an upcoming one, though.

I'm pretty sure the stallers are just a few weakwilled bastards. People with lots of games probably love the game and check regularly to avoid all the turns from accumulating at once.

I've never hosted more than one game at once but at my peak I was in 13 games at the same time. I went to bed one night and couldn't sleep only falling into a twilight state, kept hallucinating that I was either playing Dominions or that I was actually in the game, then I'd jolt awake drenched in sweat with my heart pounding. Kept happening all night. It was actually really unpleasant because I didn't have the clarity of mind to just wake up properly and get out of the fucking bed so I just lay there suffering.

Had to go AI in some of them the day after and stop putting so much time into turns for the remaining ones since it was directly affecting my health.

I only join 1 game at a time, maybe joining a new one if my current one is wrapping up.
Lets me be very meticulous with my turns, giving me lots of time to find new angles, or fine tuning my research priorities, squeeze in more site searching, thinking about the broader gamestate.
When I used to join many games I'd just play each one either like an aggressive retard or as a do nothing pussy because of the weight of too many turns to do

I assure you, Toxandria, unless you get coalitioned, everyone is too busy dying to PD or the rush nations, to really focus you. Don’t underestimate your red caps and get some vine ogres to tank and you should be ok.
For the Divinitus game, Shinuyama lost their god, which is very bad because their god was an expander, Atlantis is beefing with Ubar and Phaeacia is getting dom killed and sieged by Atlantis after failing to expand into Ubar and Jotunhiem territory.

It was a fun game, congrats to Van. The concept of it being one big moshpit made me think about what nation to pick, but I choose Ur for two reason. First, I already had experience playing them in a MP game, secondly, they have foreign recruit, which I thought would work well in a game where you have limited expansion.

I choose a more mage focused bless, as the Chosen aren't that good, and the Mushussu have limited requirement and need to be used carefully, and the rest are summons. I never got to use the Ur mage summons, which as a bummer, but oh well. I got great use out of the Anzus as some battles attest. They can fly and have multiple attacks, which includes two breath attacks, which makes them scary.

What went wrong? I had a few hiccups when expanding, thanks to a province having mage backup that needed to be worn down. My troops are also in a awkward middle ground between human sized units and giants. They have great strength and HP, but not as much as giants, and their average attack + defense comes up when fighting human sized guys, especially if they're better stat wise, like elves or Abyssinians. Not having good leaders sucked, as it made it harder to mass armies.

What went well? Foreign recruit. Enikdu archers are strong, a horde of them can really mess up an enemy, especially when buffed. Th issue is gathering them all up from your provinces. Enikdu Shaman are amazing, and are the. With having limited expansion, I thought having foreign mages would turn out great, which it did. It took a while for them to come in on their own, but being able to print out high level E and N mages really helped. Foul Vapors won me plenty of battles, and the big E and N spells were winners as well. I should have focused on Shamans from the start.

It's a funny video, but if your opponent isn't ready to to counter them they can really do some damage with how hard they fire their arrows. Which was part of the fun of the Arena, your opponent(s) wasn't sure who they'd fight, so they couldn't really counter you. You also have access to the A and N buffs for arrows, so you can go in on them if you can.

A sorcerer with ironskin has 26 hp, 20 prot, and 11 def
earthquake is a 3d6 vs defense check followed by normal 8 AP DRN
8 damage vs 10 prot means they can survive several earthquakes
~50% chance to get hit
~30% chance to actually get damaged
per earthquake
You need quite a bit of earthquakes to wipe out the sorcerers
And the sorcerers WILL have iron skin, since earthquake has a 200% casting speed and ironskin has 100%
And at that point, you've wiped out your own dudes doing so in an army clash
The Ubas 100% wouldve gotten wrecked tho lol

unrelated but here's this battle I had

I just think it fucking sucks that now I have to watch my entire realm get raped just because I was thinking on a pure strategic level, which for any other faction works fine, but here even shit like ‘iron vulnerability’ and ‘salt vulnerability’ is like a meme gimmick, it dont mean shit, theres like 40 invisible high power size 3 units that are basically the best recruitable unit in EA and possibly the game, they’re cheap as fuck and you can recruit multiple a turn ONE YEAR into the game. And to think, the only way to counter it without mages is literally a specific, expensive bless which blows chunks against nearly any other faction or neutral. And mekone is gonna get blasted now too because they only have ONE of the requirements of the dualfecta (magic weapons) so.. it’s basically just buying for time. And that salty faggot Atlantis is gonna come out the sea as well lol well, I guess I’ll just wait for it to end then, with Ulm drawing out every fucking turn for an extra 10 hours that should be an absolute delight

Atlantis is arguably the best counter to the genies, short of Dai-Oni gigachads. High attack density magic weapons at affordable prices, fire resist, and acid evocations for reliably popping invisibility regardless of resist buffs.
Salt vulnerability really is a meme though, there should probably be some earth and/or water spells that count as salt attacks.

Mekone could mop the floor with them if he
>brought an equivalent or more gold value in hoplites to this fight (he brought maybe half that)
>brought a decent cadre of Ephors (6+) to blast point blank magma bolts into the genies
as is, he was seriously outfielded and could have lost this bad to many nations. If this is all Ubar had in the cap then Mekone can replenish and outscale Ubar by the next fight.
The only seriously untolerable thing about Ubar are the Shaytan because they ramp Ubar's mage count and path diversity while taking your own at once.

All three nations live and die on their mage lineup and have a whole bunch of excellent national summons, though EA has sacred Olms recruitable in the cap and every drip cave who are incredible mind blaster artillery and thus are less reliant on summons than the others, and LA actually has pretty solid troops with Cave Knights being arguably the best expanders in the era.

>>574679240
The chariots are one of EA TC's biggest strengths early-game, they make them one of the best expanders in the era. Great armor on the rider and the horse, and good damage on the falchion means they still do well against things too big or well-armored to trample to death, and should probably be the core of your army until you've got Demons of the Heavenly Rivers ready to fuck shit up. Barring specific circumstances, granted, you'll have better luck with the glaive infantry versus well-armored giants.

>>574626226
Me with the bag of gold

>>574678381
Eriu and ma xibalba are charming in how bad they are. This means some people will play them just because they suck. The most underrated nation has got to be ma bandar log. They are a monkey nation in ma with limited recruitable magic access but a bajilion summons that require building on your pretender. But that gives them some interesting things to do
>>
>>574680227
>Eriu's pretty bad, my man.
Compared to TNN? Yeah. I think people are still sleeping on glamor magic though. They get natural access to Wailing Winds now for example, and they have the perfect paths for fae troops spam which are undeniably good. Their small mages are annoyingly inconsistent though but sidhe lords are just good for multiple purposes.
Not saying Eriu is top tier or anything, but I think people still have lingering memories of pre glamor eriu
>>
>>574678381
100% ea Sauromatia, cool enchanted tattoos, hydras and high death/blood
>>
>>574680804
The mages are quite good but actually making it to the lategame where you can abuse them is rough. The troop lineup is simply miserable and Sidhe aren't really enough to carry it.
>>
>>574681279
I think you go a monster with good order scales and some utility bless for the sacreds and lean on firbolg troops, or you get a fat incarnate bless with 7+ candles and sack the scales on an immobile, expand big and try to diplomacy into a favorable first war. Expanding is actually pretty easy with both of those options (because you don't need to use the sub indie human troops)
If you start next to a hellbless Ashdod or something though it's gonna be fuckin rough for sure.
>>
>>574681738
>lean on firbolg troops
The 15 gold guys with t-shirts and no helmets?
>>
>>574682085
Cattle raiders are good they hit crazy hard. The javelin guys help thicken your dhoine sidhe expansion parties well. Even with low bless youd use dhoine sidhe for expanding primarily. And youd have a monster in this scenario
Slingers are bad, if you need slingers you have a cheaper one. Axe guys are ok all rounders.
But they can all stealth and take buffs well and fight well enough into most pd from your also stealthy mages too. Gotta play like an elf. \
The milesian man at arms is ok too, hard to mass with sloth though which you will probably take since your best troop to dump resources into is a literally worse indie heavy infantry.
Again, far from top tier nation. Definitely playable with finesse. Nowhere near as bad as they were in dom 5
>>
>>574682805
in sloops eriu is fine desu. in vanilla tho yeah they are quite finicky to make work, especially in dom6 since they can't lean on sidhe lords being 1 man armies so much anymore

For me it's the unique sauromatia/pythium immortal hydra though. Conj 8 is a massive research detour for it with those nations which really want to beeline down ench/alt, and even if you gift of reason it it's not much more impressive than any other recruitable hydra
>>
>>574685098
Caelum Daeva / Amesha line becaus ethey don't have the paths for it
Kailasa / Bandar log gigachad high conj summons because they don't have the paths for the blood ones and more simply because those nations rarely live long enough to get high in conj

jotun draug. 70 hp each with chill and fear aura, and a 32 dmg attack once they transform into their size 8 version. such a nice summon but expensive and you don't get many so they're hard to mass.

poison golem reapers everything including your army and it isn't strong enough to solo (because you sure as shit aren't bringing it with your army)
iron dragons used to be good when divine name gave them fire iirc, so they could at least pyre
siege golems are just a riskier gate cleaver

LANKA, it's fucking turn 1 and it's been almost 30 hours, what's taking so long.
I'm setting you to research myself, the show must go on

Was almost done with my turn as EA Xibalba in PANKOMANS_DUEL_ARENA and the turn rolled before I got my items in, now I have a pretender with 0 items. Is this normal, am I cooked?
>>
>>574690381
Someone should set themselves unfinished since everyone is stalling, so whoever submits a turn causes the wheel to turn

Surely Arenamin is going to roll back the turns, since otherwise certain people will have crafted more artifacts than others can in the three turns prep time we were supposed to have.
>>
>>574690381
Did you read the rules at all? You're not supposed to do anything but set your shit to researcher and one to patrol, admin will now forcehost 10 turns then you can make your items.

UPDATE: the game is ready to go. See the in-game message for instructions.

tldr the debug mod works differently than the version I tested with so I just sped ahead with the turns so that everything is researched already. No need to wait for a second research round.

The three turns preparation time begin now. Get to crafting.

>>574690628
I force hosted it as fast as I could and barely did anything else other than send some mages to clear up the arena to remove indies and write a message. Any bastard fast enough to get a turn in deserves whatever they produced.
Looks like Phlegra and Xibalba got one each. The others it was me (Fomoria) briefly testing that the research thing has worked properly. Turns out the UI shows level 9 spells as not researched, but they ARE available in the scripting screen.

Wait, I'm fucking retarded. I KNOW who the players were who sneaked in a turn, fucking Xibalba and Phlegra.
That breaks the most basic rule of the arena: cheating is allowed, getting caught isn't.
However, both did that right after I entered a turn to test stuff, so it's also reasonable to believe that they might have simply thought that the game was ready to go, and they simply tried to be faster in case it makes a difference on who gets a particular item.

I'll reset the game and give it another go. Anyone sneaking in a turn this time is flying out, though

I think a reset is the most logical step, and adjust the rules about the turns because as you noticed you're not forcehosting 10 turns. Make it based on your announcement not a set number of turns. In fact I think everything should be declared that way, ideally posted here, on the server page, and a ingame message.

I don't think they did it maliciously but a reset costs nothing since we don't even have cap circles to roll the dice on. Anyone who does it again though, ban their ass.

It is done. Now we're ready to go.
Long story short, all research is now unlocked, so no need for a second research phase.

There's now three turns to craft stuff. I heavily recommend moving one mage SCOUTING to the following arenas, so that you can see stuff.

Since I'm the host, I'll be moving straight to the Pit and play goalie. I'll also be casting eyes of god so that I can keep an eye on matches and obvious rule breaks and generally organize stuff.

Main reminders:
>no casting Wish to increase pretender stats
>all equipment is allowed
>all battle spells are allowed
>rituals are generally not allowed. Sure go ahead if you have some interesting idea, as long as it doesn't directly harm an opponent or somehow stop them from fighting their duel in fair conditions. Anything that interferes with the arena more directly than messing with temperature scales is likely to get you the hammer
>don't preach, don't patrol outside your capital
>you can use teleporting spells to keep your pretenders stocked, but send a couple scouting dudes to make sure you've got item slots to swap shit around
>if you're going to be a smartass about the rules, read them properly. Notice the "ONLY" in the use case of the 999999 mages

I'll be giving clear warning when it's time to move on.
To be very specific: you get to equip up to 3 artifacts before the first battle. So craft this turn (50), next (51), next (52), and THEN (53) it'll be time to march away into the first battles, the result of which will be read in turn 54.

I probably should have kept my Tyrants that were onsite there, but they were empowered to A2 and weren't twiceborn so I didn't want to risk them. In the end this will cost me 700ish RP as I made 20 trophimos priests, probably some path I don't care about, and the gem cost of the gear. The last concern is real, and lack of gear has had me swap into elder cyclops.

Fighting into Ulm with this build before I got phoenix pyre was a complete lark, but I'm in too many (3) games anyways so I hope you'll at least make these turns simpler by killing my stuff. The lack of RP is a real killer though.

Ngl theres some nuggets of truth here and there with some slices of fabrication and imagination. First off, THERE ARE barbarians in the lands you sequestered when you asked me if you could have them and just marched through (I did say it was practice tho lmao! Good use of paraphrasing there.) and THEN the barbarians came when you were in Ubar. Not to mention my forces at ubar were 200 strong, and the one at your borders (attacking a stack of indies your gay ass ignored btw) but then figured, what the fuck, im next to Atlantis who is angry at me, Ur who i did a deal with for some land but who is obviously new so I wanna let them live laugh love and then Ubar who you had beef with for being raided across the river. Anyywaaayy yes. I did want more lands, it made sense for me to expand what with the shit I have. Anyway, as the least faggotish and most capable of my neighbours I still offer you a truce of sorts even if you’re a grug smash retard who tends to exxagerate and is also barbarian blind.
>>
LION you greentexter fags are a little obnoxious, should me and Ubar start documenting the game to back up your fiction with reality or is making it more elaborate with exxageration and fairy tale more interesting?
>>574650187
>>
Oh and the army at your borders (which is now not, because understandably you’re more wrapped up in making up elaborate Lion-o fairy tales) was 100 strong, not as strong as the one which was decimated by Ubar in the above document (thanks for that by the way you fag!) and I thought, the whole game this guy is such a greedy bastard, and livin easy except for Ubar being such a douche, me being understanding felt it prudent to assist since Ubar is strooong. Anyway, I figure its now my time to eat the bullet so to speak but I have ancient Chinese bulshit up my sleeve to deal with the fucking gwei los. Anyway, if you come help me, I’ll boost your social credit score and make a few Pachinko games about you or some shit. But I’m far too autistic and mathematical to be dealing with your intricate jargon.
>>
It speaks fucking volumes that a guy who can only speak in greentext or like a character out of a 1968 mythos thriller is my best neighbour vs a guy who just started playing, a bitter salty asshole who has no concept of personal space, and a maniacal fuck who’s playing the most powerful faction in the game and will now use it to enact his power fantasy of dabbing on the graves of anyone not foolish enough to get the correct fucking bless

Also ngl, if you check the screenshots Ubar posted in previous threads, you can see Ubar never headed south of the river crossing, but I assume will now considering I assisted you assaulting his base (admittedly my plan was erstwise, and you indeed carried the brunt of the war, but nevertheless, your atrocious attention to detail and your frivolous capacity to ignore base facts renders you a foolish ally at best and an inconvenient pest at worst. So I took the initiative! Were my bless any good to counter
ubar we wouldnt even be having this conversation you greasy faggot!) so, in essence, you never ‘heard’ me and ubar having problems, you made that up. But me, being an analytic mind saw that Ubar being tagged exceptionally strong, the wise man might suggest the avenue of best result to crush that seed before it bears evil fruit. Anyway, we both fucked up, youll seethe about it and make up bullshit and I’ll do some last stand helms deep chink edition in my capital and if I die, I personally bequeath my lands to you, least worst of all my neighbours. >>574764224
Thrones in cap circles, lack of logical connections, dead ends, etc.
>>
>>574764224
The main things are.
No excessive chokepoints/mountain ranges that cut neighbours off from eachother
Not too much water relative to amount of water players (9-12 is about standard for a solo water nation ocean).
No thrones in cap circles and thrones are generally on the borders of where nations would meet.
Standardized cap circle connections, so 1 guy doesn't get screwed with only 2 or something

Thanks. This is all good advice

Do the vines/grips from items have a check when they're first applied to fail?
I want to kit out a golem but don't have access to atk boosting items. Shouldn't be a problem though if 4 squares are guaranteed to be restrained though right?
>>
>>574767480
I'm not sure, but you can just give the golem a frost/fire brand
>>
>>574767480
try a shield that will passively kill shit instead like charcoal shield or scutata volturnus. and like the other poster said give it a brand cause aoe1 effects can't miss
>>
EA ARCOSCEPHALE, GET THAT TURN IN. We'll be moving on in about 5 hours.
After that we'll be doing normal 24 hour turns
>>
>>574768701
BASED, FUCK SLOW PLAYERS
>>
>>574767586
>>574767680
Should just do that. Due to dumb luck have access to both Frost Brand and the Scutata.
Wish A wasn't such a bitch to raise though, would love to also make the helmet that shits out lightning bolts but apparently A3 is an impossible feat to boost to.

4-5 neighbouring provinces per capital, no retarded geographical impossibilities or illogical traversal areas, areas between nations substantial enough for at least 8-10 provinces each, North/South and East/West looping ensures the world is more killy and active, more dynamic, less static.

So designing a map for 10 provinces per player is pretty standard? I wasnt sure if 15 provinces per player would be better

can someone upload the Touhou mod for D6 (the 1.20 version)? steam workshop refuses to work for some reason.
>>
>>574771772
If you play with the sweaters on discord their standard is
Capital + 9 provinces you will always get + 3 contestable provinces between each neighbour.
They play on a grid so there's always 4 neighbours unless they have a weird amount of players
>>
Should I ever build heavy human infantry
>>
>>574771425
The Kalevala
>>
>>574772338
Oh and a couple of contestable provinces on the diagonals between players, usually where the thrones are
>>
>>574772429
Yeah. Some of them are really good, some are garbage though
Milesian Heavy Infantry? Pretty shit, worse stats than an indie. At least gold cheap so they are ok in basic archers
La Pythium Comitatense? Amazing, high map move great stats, fair price.

>>
>>574792782
If there are big provinces in the center of the map you should regen it with a different seed. In general just check it with the map editor before committing to it
>>

Ask and you shall receive!
Good luck to everyone with your artifacts of choice.
I got mine and my second goal hasn't been crafted, but
>8 artifacts already exist
>13 of us in the arena
Looks like 5 of you weren't creative enough!
