There was no shadow crystal in chapter 3/5 because kris made those fountains, and we only found crystals there because the knight fight in 3 and asgore having one (which ended up with pink) but they mean the shards? Is it me, or does the game lack a little bit of SOUL the undertale had. I sorta hate the party system and I hate that I feel like Kris at times is so unbelievably sidelined for most of the game it drastically ruins a piece of what made Undertale so great.. I know it could be an artstick choice to show Kris, as someone who is moving throughout the world has no agency. If it is the case, I understand it since even at the start of the game it tells us our choices don't matter. But in Undertale, being limited to a party of one made the journey more about us, the player.Its weird, because in a game like Deltarune, where you travel with more characters, it actually feels like there are actually less characters. Deltarune does a good job to place the spotlight on a more select few, like each chapter's antagonist and our cast. However Kris' limited ability to actually interact with said characters and make meaningful choices make the events play out more like a scene than a deliberate act from the player. They don’t feel as real.
