>>574796956The short of it is that you're locked out of warclaw, gliding and elite specs so you'll always be slow and unable to take shortcuts, and you'll always be severely underpowered unless you're actually good and have a good core class, in which you'll only be a little underpowered. Good F2P builds are few and far between, even more so for zergs. If you're with a zerg, stick to it like glue or you'll fall behind, and if you're roaming, don't expect to be able to run away. Learn to survive, dying isn't a big deal but you learn nothing by just acting like fodder.Max out your participation first by killing players and flipping objectives. If you're just trying to grind reward tracks, you can keep your participation up by capping ruins and sentries. If you want to actually fight, go to a populated map and flip/defend camps. Towers and keeps mostly require numbers.Put a point in Supply Master and Build Master as soon as you can, as it more than doubles your default build speed. After that, focus on either Guard Killer/Defense or Catapult/Flame Ram Mastery, depending on whether you're zerging or roaming. Then finish Build/Repair/Supply Mastery.Have fun.

>>574832648i'll keep it three bucks 50, legendaries are objectively a bad investment unless you're doing some bleeding edge build testing shit or are a youtuber. otherwise its just a fashion or convenience thing. don't pressure yourself to get them, just take note of what you need and work it into your daily rotation when you feel like it. obsidian armor for example. it's a lot of shit. an overwhelming amount of doing the same shit in the same maps. if you try to get it asap its going to suck dick. just do a couple convergences (good for gold anyways), maybe a map meta if you see it up and feel like it. if you're far enough along to know about alt parking and shit, throw a few alts onto the chests in bjora marches and rake in the eternal nice to convert into tyrian defense seals to trade for skritt packages when you need trophies. this is rather profitable for gold as well even if you don't need trophies iirc.tl;dr don't stress. once you get some content like raids, fractals, pvp, even wvw going on the regular you'll make quite a bit of gold. after that, everything is much easier.

That'll get you easy access to the cheapest stat selectable amulet and trinket in the game.in the meantime, definitely step into wvw and get acclimated to it. not only is the rush good for getting gifts of battle and clovers, it also opens the door to the cheapest stat selectable exotics in the game as well. those help a lot for filling out the random one off pieces of gear a build might need. make sure to stock up on black lion salvage kits from the wizard's vault as well so you can rip the expensive runes like dragonhunter, scholar and the expensive sigils like bursting, tormenting, etc out of your old exotic gear when its time to move up to ascended or legendary. i'd also look into a legendary sigil. helps massively with condi builds and their overpriced mandatory sigils. all of this being said, maybe forget about crafting legendaries for a little bit. festival of four winds will make material prices jump pretty high. i couldn't tell you how to best take advantage of that though, or how much it takes to make playing the market worth it though, that shit is all beyond me.
