Decides to keep powering through on FRLG.ips despite the immense heartbreak at the extremely hokey villain speech in Bill's Garden, and fuck man. I keep getting my neck broken by narrative whiplash every time it goes from excellent tension building and the world being more and more "off" to every time the entity that seems to be following us opens its mouth to blabber off some 14 year old's idea of cool prose. "A doomed monument to man's infinite potential for hubris" to refer to fucking Bill? Really? Insufferable. I don't even mind the characters' reactions to the situation, I really liked Erika's dialogue where she became increasingly distressed and spaced out in the gym, and the imitation of pokemon dialogue is pretty decent in a lot of places. It just makes it all the more baffling and painful when the spirit of wattpad posesses the author and makes them spew flowery nonsense that's often so overwrought that it effectively winds up meaning nothing. I think someone on Pokecommunity said it best: "Sometimes it feels like it's just saying shit to say shit". Overall, extremely mixed (with a lean towards positive) on it, I really look forward to future stuff from them when they learn to reign their unbearable purple prose tendencies in, they've clearly got some talent.
