Lessons in Love General #8.5This general is for the discussion of the adult English visual novel Lessons in Love, where you take over as the teacher for a class of 20 students trying to make their way through life. BEWARE: There is a lot of sex.>Game linkshttps://djnostyle.itch.io/lessons-in-love (It's free!)https://subscribestar.adult/selebus>ToolsGuide mod (get this!): https://f95zone.to/threads/lessons-in-love-progress-and-guide-mod-v0-57-0-cckerberos.106973/Font patch (get this! drag into folder to fix error symbols in the backlog): https://pastebin.com/Ygj3t9h9Automod (transforms the game from sandbox to fully linear): https://f95zone.to/threads/lessons-in-love-autovn-mod-linear-mod-v0-59-0.221087/Flowchart: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11fllvDn805bE_8JOl7TKOTM40O6LJnkN/viewURM (for editing values): https://0x52.dev/mods/Universal-Ren-Py-Mod-1000Puzzle guide: https://attachments.f95zone.to/2025/11/5442808_Lessons_in_Love_Resets.txt>Community worksWiki (includes translations for hex/etc): https://lessonsinlove.wiki/Fanart: https://www.lessonsinlovegame.com/galleries/fan-art/>FAQQ: The world is broken and I can't progress! What do?A: That's intentional. Try to work out how to progress, or check the puzzle guide if you really can't figure it out.Q: Is there any way to find scenes easier? I keep getting lost.A: The guide mod in the tools section will show exactly what scenes are available and how to get them at any given time. It's highly recommended. You can also use URM to raise the affection/lust values of characters if you get tired of grinding them.Q: What kind of /vn/ is this, exactly?A: It's a sprawling, 3-million-word long harem dating sim with an emphasis on slice-of-life comedy and romance that at times dips into denpa (schizo) themes and slowly unfurls a grander narrative as a web of drama forms between the cast. Play the start and you'll soon see what's up.Q: Next big update when?A: 8/1/26Previous thread: >>573869152
Would have linked >>575101509 as the previous thread as well but adding the automod put the OP basically at the exact character limit.
>>575120695back to /vn/ with you
I do NOT give a single daam about Futaba, sue meeeee
Maya LOVE
>>575120990I wonder if that poster is whichever mod got the OP image removed, because the previous thread managed to not have the first post be that one.
Finally, the wholesome thread with the intact OP image.
>>575120558Finally a thread the gachanigger janie won't notice
>>575121002I'm constantly forgetting she exists unless Selebus reminds me.
>>575121002the ONE time selebus tries to write about an issue he doesn't have experience with (bulimia) it falls flat
Looking forward to more Yumi bush in the future.

Damn, I knew the old OP was risky, but at least it's funny Maya is the one slutty enough to get nuked. Thanks for baking a new thread

>>575137041me on the bottom
>>575131408That animation better be Noriko.
Sekai is so beautiful.
>>575150906It's a wonder Sensei didn't turn into a milfsexual
>>575153575Maya getting pissed at Niki for saying Sensei hasn't done anything for them is one of the most important lines in the game
New preview.
>>575156956mah boy noodles
>>575156956Truly LiL understands the most profound imagery is that of a hot teen ass
>>575156956When will Selebus finally pose and render a good ass shot?
>>575156956Image feels quite... WIREy.
Waiting for the next update is a pain so I'm grinding more Ami affection and lust to pass the time. The numbers are getting quite high.
>>575175783The gap between updates are tough. Our sole blessing is there probably won't be any more fanfests to waste time
>The waiting time is a pain>LiL updates monthlyThis is the kind of greed that's talked in the Bible
>>575175838This year or ever?
>>575180534I think ever, since the last one bombed and made Selebus lose his like 20% of his income.>>575177871Yeah I wouldn't like complain about it broadly in the context of WEGs as a whole; just sharing sympathy that the wait is hard.
>>575180680It probably was related to him taking 2 breaks almost back to back, I'm glad it is over tho
>>575180402This is a pretty good maya image. Would be a good second maya OP
>>575151697Onee-sans and shota-kuns
What a fucked up thing to say
The line that inspired a thousand playthroughs
>>575192316Kirin is a good girl, though.
>>575187926an English spy operating in the USA?
I feel like I should give Selebus some money.
Stocks in Tsukasa are rising.
I think it would be kino if Chinami became aware of the loops before Chika does. How differently would she act knowing that her life might not be as short as she thought
>>575208183It actually is implied she notices the loops due to continually dying and getting revived. She makes various allusions to it throughout the game like talking about she had a huge streak of not getting "the talk," as if it's something she is used to getting on loop without avoiding it, etc
>>575208635I did not get that impression while reading it.
>>575208635I never caught that, do you have examples?
>>575209190I can't remember much beyond the one I listed since it was recent, so take it with a grain of salt if you will.
>>575210036If it is the one I was thinking the "talk" she was referring to was the bird and bees sex talk because of Tsukasa recent antics
Surprisingly iconic line
>>575209190it's kind of a far-fetched theory but the main thing is there are implications of her getting sick and dying that never seem like they go anywhere and she's constantly asking for peanuts which she knows would kill her. this is passed off as a joke about how childish she is but finding out that that she's not actually that childish and is just putting on an act puts it in a new light. it doesn't necessarily mean she's fully aware but it seems like there's something going on just out of view
Sensei is a good person and any alleged wrongdoings he may have committed are solely the fault of the evil succubi constantly tempting him.
>>575216640It's really amazing how Sensei never does anything wrong in the whole game
>>575217949LiL is ultimately the tragedy of seeing his pure and noble motivations be misunderstood and corrupted by all those around him.
>>575219378Also Kageaki-sama I should take the opportunity to say I'm glad you caught up and liked it. Despite the meme vortex that invariably surrounds the game it is just a VN I like a lot and I'm glad when someone else likes it, too. It's been fun keeping up with your playthrough and I appreciated that you were pretty much immune to any attempts to troll, it was all realdeal and informative posts from you alongside the blogposting. At the end of the day LiL is just a good game. It's unfortunate for it that being an EVN made in Koikatsu is - personal preference aside - such a mind-killer to so many established VN readers. I celebrate those who do not get self-owned by that bias.
One more week...
>>575222345>Also Kageaki-sama I should take the opportunity to say I'm glad you caught up and liked it.Thanks. I had it in the back of my mind to read for a while, but I'm glad I put it off until I did. I definitely would have been annoyed having caught up early in Chapter 4 for example (having certain plot points left unresolved for months on end would have bothered me a lot). Anyway, I definitely did enjoy it and it is a great VN, and I would honestly call it my favorite at this point. It's simultaneously the most fun I've had reading a game and also one of the best written stories in one. Perhaps some of that is subjective but it really hit a lot of points for me that ended up being exactly what I wanted to read, whether I was aware of it beforehand or not. I'll probably reread it from the start eventually.>It's unfortunate for it that being an EVN made in Koikatsu is - personal preference aside - such a mind-killer to so many established VN readers.I really don't get it. I mentioned this in one of the previous threads, but for people who place primacy on writing in VNs, and don't mind reading games with poor art due to that, it's absurd to me that they'd refuse to read something like this, which doesn't look bad at all, simply because it isn't drawn. I've always tried to be open-minded in my choice of games so perhaps I just can't relate to that kind of infantile tribalism and it makes sense to them in some way. I do wonder if I managed to get anyone to pick it up, but I guess there's no way to know. I'll probably continue posting about it in /vn/ regardless since I hate them.
>>575224857Also I have to say that I'm glad there's actually a game on this level that's written in English. I've never had anything against EVNs per se, but I don't think it's arguable that there has been an issue of "quality" there. I've always been a fan of clever writing and wordplay, and I like seeing English, as a language, being taken advantage of to the degree you see in LiL, which is something you can't really get with a translation, regardless of fidelity.
>>575225787Quite. Reading a good English work (or reading a Japanese work in Japanese then checking a translation) really hits home how badly a mediocre translation can bring a work down, and 99.9% of translations are mediocre or worse. It's not super fair to like consider this a point in LiL's favor per se but just being in English and using English fully gives it a huge boon. (This is irrelevant to we elite JOPs who just read JP VNs in JP of course). It's too bad most of my favorite OELVN games like Hero Party Must Fall and Superhuman have like dogshit English writing from ESLs. I consider it fortunate to have stumbled upon corru.observer recently though because that's another work that pushes English pretty hard. Either way, utter savants like Selebus are a rarity.
>>575226709I didn't mean to imply that it was a point for LiL, but rather something that I'm glad about personally. I do have corru.observer bookmarked and I may try it once I feel like picking up another game. I'm still too deep into LiL-mode to read something else at the moment, though.
>>575227276The perfect time to replay Chapter 1
>>575227376I might do that after the update next week.
>>575224857>>575225787yeah well put, i think a lot of us end up feeling like this

Hello is this like Summertime Saga? Can I post it here?
>>575241223No, it's not, but nobody can stop anyone from posting anything anywhere regardless
>>575241389But there is a goal on his Patreon talking about Summertime Saga....
Thoughts on the recent Tsuneyo scene?
