There's no excuse for MP1's writing being dogshit, and I'm not opposed to Master. It's supposed to be a soft reboot to the game, that establishes a new vision for the game that will sustain it for years to come, and grip new players since it's replacing the original opening. What we got was a bunch of boring exposition that feels like they have no story to tell. MP1 was extremely important for the game's future and they fumbled it bad, it won't grip new players and it shows they still even after all these story packs don't realize the most important thing about writing a good story is about making something that's actually just good and interesting. The connecting the dots can come later, if you put boring exposition before good character writing and story, you're going to get garbage. The Master Packs were an opportunity to clean the slate and remove the excess baggage of the game that has bogged down the story for so long and instead they proved that the creators have learned nothing and will just repeat history with these new packs. Oh well, at least the character packs are still fun.
