For all intents and purposes, *Prey* (2006) is a horror game. And it’s so good. I downloaded it and Wolfenstein 2009, and while the former has good gunplay, Treyarch did a better job with Nazi Zombies. But Prey 2006 is a gem. It has the best presentation on idTech 4 and fun gameplay. Nothing really impressive in the gameplay department, since the shooting lacks tactical elements or even a proper gameplay loop. But it felt more fun than its predecessors, like Doom 3 and Quake 4. I don’t really care about difficulty, but Prey’s lack of difficulty is by far the game’s biggest problem. BioShock, released a year later, sort of solves this with its pseudo-RPG mechanics, but the game feels more tedious with all the padding and forced backtracking. Prey 2017 is, without a doubt, much better in both narrative and gameplay. I just cringe at the Native American theme in Prey, while the existential theme in Prey 2017 is much better conceived and tied to gameplay mechanics. Not to mention that Prey 2017 is a better and more polished game. Prey 2006 is the best 7/10 I’ve played lately

These are just two prettty safe bet situations where the survivors are probably refusing to leave the mock the killer, and if they're not, no harm done the killer won't forfeit.
