I browse AO3 regularly. AO3 is kind of a quantity over quality type of site, it's easy to find something to read but harder to find something that you'll actually get interested in. There's some decent gems in there, but it's harder to find fanfictions that aren't SoL snorefests. Granted, that's more of a personal preference so eh. I'd say just look for things with higher word counts. Zoomers nowadays can't write more than three paragraphs at a time without getting bored and their ADHD getting triggered so it kind of filters out the lower quality stuff.
