Unironically Dessknight suffers a bit because of the chapter-based release model.If the whole game came out at once, then it'd just be a thing that happens in the story and people wouldn't really overanalyze the leadup to it (like UT Asriel). But because it's a big mystery in a game that'll take a decade to be completed, people feel like it has to be a big twist that subverts everyone's expectations and invalidates every bit of speculation while also being thematically relevant and satisfying.This is how you end up with peeps actually thinking Rudy is secretly the main antagonist.
