Unfortunately, they had no restraint so by endgame the power scaling is astronomical (literally) and it comes at the detriment of the story.It would be faster to list which league mechanics have had bad/underwritten stories, which off the top of my head are just the First Ones (bestiary), Mirage, and probably all the Primordial stuff in Delve.POE1's biggest lore flaw is that many parts of its overarching story have been removed entirely. The most egregious example of this is probably Venarius. Shaper/Elder/Sirus still kinda work with all their endgame content removed as of now, but Venarius is a very significant character who has all of his backstory removed from the game. Which is extra weird because he's back to relevance again with the Secrets of the Atlas Zana stuff.As for POE2, I think the stories are good, but badly told because of how quickly you can finish their storylines. Expedition and Breach are really bad with this in 2. But it's all cool and well-made. I have never regretted listening to character dialogue or reading flavor stuff in POE, which is pretty impressive given the average retard who is the core audience of ARPGs.

The way they've set up the endgame (especially Expedition) makes me think that at the end of Act 6 we will still be just journeying through Wraeclast, they won't introduce the Atlas of Worlds again.I hope they keep the stakes manageable. The strongest things you fight in the endgame that are non-weakened Big Bads are Xesht and Bodach, so hopefully that's the limit.

I would like to see a league where all the drop's are "liquid but keep aka no rare or magic" items and a lot of items only drop as white with a chance to be fully linked that way crafters can have there fun but raw currency is plentiful and opens crafting to everyone to experiment and play with even little timmy who would if he could mirror a white ring just to have a laugh I think this would be better as an event but it would be more fun then this league since everyone could craft stuff to play with without going through spreadsheets figuring out if you're about to waste 4 hours of grinding for an item that isn't even an upgrade
