If society tried to force me to believe in God, I would be against it too, because I cannot fully accept a concept that cannot be substantiated materially in any way, shape, or form. The Sonic fandom, and broader society to an extent, will claim something is real just because they say so, and if you cannot conform to the social rules surrounding it, you face such extreme demonization that they may as well be talking about a fictional villain.
