Ok so I was thinking the loss protection games are basically mmr inflation, you can go 50:50 indefinitely and eventually you will climb because of those games In addition since they moved the percentile based ranking into e+ they kind of soft acknowledged this. Basically you can just grind and eventually hit eternus and that’s where the real ladder starts, I think some fighting games do this. Long term there will be a big glut of hardstuck grinders in e1 but seasons might break this up if frequent enough. The other elo hell is probably that compression area right near oracle V and it should slowly walk from their to e1 over the course of a season

Deadlock should not be considered a form of interactive entertainment. Matches are so predetermined, it would be inaccurate to call it interactive. The players are so bitter and filled with hostile intent towards their teammates that it can not be called entertainment.

I think one of the biggest issues with what you're suggesting is games change too much and people are always coming and going. Chess tried to solve this issue for years with ranking systems, how do you make a ranking system that deals with a wildly inconsistent number of games between players? How do you create a system that doesn't incentivize getting a rank and then never playing again so that you don't derank? These issues pre-date video games and when you dumbasses start screeching about EOMM based on almost nothing (BTW the original paper on EOMM from Netease came to the conclusion it wasn't worth using just FYI) it just demonstrates you probably know nothing about how difficult an algorithm this is to solve.

Furthermore, my personal experience (which I already explained to you) is that having a ladder designed to fulfill the needs of the casual masses that THINK they want to play ranked and then a real elo ladder at the top has worked wonders in fighting games. As soon as you get below 50% winrate, it explodes to over 1100 games and climbs rapidly for each extra % below 50.Is this... Good?
