OC north horn is like casualized Eureka that needs just a smidge of Bozja injected into it.The phantom jobs just overall needed to be way more interesting and less of a grind. The relic steps could have went more hand-in-hand with it. South horn really could have used a normal mode tower to encourage people to engage with the harder version. The mobs (especially the mimics, jesters, night enemies, etc.) could feel more important instead of being level checkers that one shot you but you're determined to get around anyway. The core loop is boring. The loot is meh, but it should be fun without the loot anyway. There's nice things about it though. The subject matter for the zone itself is incredible for example, and some of the CEs ARE fun, they just get old after you've leveled two phantom jobs.

Imo, Phantom Jobs are really fun. I like how the abilities interact with your base job. Like PLD getting free swiftcast on Time Mage's comet and skipping the 8s cast. Or P.SMN finally giving SMN more summons to summon to play with elemental weaknesses. I understand if some people liked past systems better, but I hope they can remember how many lost actions were filler no one used. Can you actually say pulling a Banner of Tireless Conviction felt good? It would be one thing if every action was a banger, but there were really only a handful that were meaningful, like Lost Perception or Lost Seraph Strike. Both systems are unique and have their ups and downs, but I think the thing we should really all be rallying behind is that Eureka gave us way more zones plus BA, and Bozja gave us two zones as well plus Castrum, Dal, DR, duels, and an entire EX on top of the FATE grind. OC has the Towers, but they only even made the option to queue as parties for OC and a normal mode for Tower of Magic after Tower of Blood performed abysmally. OC has felt from the start like less of a complete package and more of a testing ground for design ideas the team had.

So now players have to constantly swap after hitting mastery, never getting to use the capstone ability, and importantly, never being able to really synergize your phantom job to your actual job of choice and offset the roles inherent weaknesses. In both eureka and bozja, the additional actions had stances that helped normalize HP ATK and DEF across roles so your choice of role wasn't a problem. OC doesn't have this, and so everyone plays tank, because most phamtom jobs only contribute damage, and without survivability, DPS and healers die to a single mistake, therefore doing no damage. This main flaw, this inability to gain exp while on a mastered job, kills real job variation as people are funneled into survivability, and the phantom job variation is currently 7 flavors of mystic knights, and they all feel the same. OC is objectively worse than its predecessors.
