as someone who only plays 5.7 - 7.7 when i play ground, i can confirm american heavies are very niggerish vehicles. they all have different weakspots and it is impossible to tell which is which when they're bushed up. also some of them are basically invincible when hulldown, which no other country can claim. not even the IS-4M or Maus are particularly strong in hulldown - their biggest armor weaknesses are in fact their turret cheeks

SU-22 premium. Buy or pass? Looks like a fun plane overall and gets 6 all aspect IR missiles on a supersonic airframe at 11.0, with a shitload of cms, which is rare. Decent CAS loadout also but I'd be playing air at least to start. How does the airframe line up against other stuff in the 10.0 to 12.0 bracket? Does it's matchmaker get skewed by premium F4S, Mirage and MIG-23, for permanent uptiers, or does it get downtiered a fair bit too? Seems like the kind of plane that people would write off in ARB because it's designed for CAS, but that actually has a very solid loadout for air to air combat, kind of like the A10. It'll also probably go on sale again during the end of year sale, so it might be worth waiting.

>>576114904it depends completely on the plane you're in, and the plane you're facing. you just want to do the thing that your plane is best at, and their plane is worst at.there are also some generalized tactics that work on conditionals. for example, if your plane has a higher roll rate than the enemy plane, or if the enemy is bad at reacting, you can watch the plane behind you, roll down into their belly, and pull up. even if their plane has a 2x higher turn-rate, if you're doing up-elevator into their belly, they have to neg-G to aim at you, which has far lower turn rate and will make them pass out in 2-3 seconds. also, in general, you just need to learn the interplay between altitude and speed/energy. like if you have too much speed, you don't need to slow down, you just need to pull up for a bit. that sort of thing becomes instinctive

Hell yeah, wibble wobbled it back to base with no rudder, no flaps and no elevators. Just kept wanting to pitch up so I rolled it back and forth and throttled the engine up and down.Anything to not give out a free kill. :-)
