As i recently came back to the game and caught up with recent information i got really confused on the matter of main to off-tank separation. I get that the new tank will be a MT, there is no denying that. But all those years i have played FFXIV Warrior and Dark Knight always felt like the true MT while Paladin and Gunbreaker were the OT. I mean their current kit's represent that, no? Paladin got Cover, Divine Veil, Clemency, Intervention and Passage of Arms. This tank can support more than any other tank. And Gunbreaker had Aurora, Heart of Corundum, Heart of Light and overall a huge amount of DPS.Please can someone make this make sense to me?Note: i always like the class fantasy of being the first line of defense but my mains are Warrior and Gunbreaker. So seeing my boy Warri being put in the second line of defense feels a bit like a let down as It ruins the class fantasy for me. Warrior was in my eyes this immovable Berserker that only stops when either they themselves or the boss stops breathing. But now being the side-kick to someone else feels wrong.
Haven't played since 7.1, should I return now or wait for the next expansion?
