You have to look at it from the perspective of the average casual player and not a wannabe speedrunner avoiding everything they don't need to interact with or playing perfectly. It's not the most forgiving game to pick up and play either and has some mechanical flaws. Taking longer to complete the stages is part of that.

I don't know if anyone feels the same way, but I think "dark ages" of Sonic is my favorite era. I'm not sure how to explain it but I felt more with 06, Secret Rings, and Unleashed compared to Frontiers. I don't mean with gameplay, but like story and soul.

For months I've been trying to get the platinum on Sonic Rumble, but Sonic Team added new achievements in recent seasons and made the task near impossible for everyone who is not a whale or spents hundred of dollars on legendary skins. Just staying on the Chaos Emerald league requires an experienced player account and constant gametime, for Master Emerald you requiere unholy amounts of bonus percentage to reach the ranks. Part of me is considering buying a season pass or two to finally even grasp the highest ranking, the other part think is unbelievable for a ranked system to turn your cosmetic inventory into a mathemical requirement and would not spent a dime in a free to play game made like this.
