We don't need our own server, we can just link up in one of the others severs already running.
pull up
>>576076091Ok sell me on Nuclear Option. Whats makes it so great? why does he wear the mask?i come from the educative cockpit software DCS, the flightsim X-plane and the Ace Combat games
>>576088573NO is (almost) the perfect sim-cade imo. Easy to get into, needs very few binds at all. And yet the gameplay it offers is deep and varied. Its pure fun. The planes and weapons are deeply satisfying, the damage model is one of the best, if not the best.
>>576076450>Paying full price for a rifle that is modified to only shoot blanks
I put like 500 hours into NO between 0.30 and 0.33 so I'm gonna hold off until the new map arrives so I don't burn myself out
>>576090073You can wait five years for the one you can use in DCS if you want
Is the f-22 air dominance fighter remaster by nu-microprose any good?
>>576095552Why is it so green?
>>576096157Turned the dome light to "NVG", which as you can see, only makes it green and not really NVG.

>>576101087I'm a farmer and i do this
>>576096578The NVG light is green so that you don't have clashing colors outside the peripheries of the NVG goggles.

Good morning /simg/. What are you playing today?
>>576114715Korea is good.
>>576088573The game offers a nice dynamic battlefield and pretty much everything serves some specific purpose. A SFB-81 factory produces stealth bombers. Destruction of the factory eliminates production of that plane, but has no effect on other airframes. Other factories produce their specific airframes or ground vehicles, and enrichment plants produce nuclear warheads. TBM launchers will blanket the map in tactical nukes if they're not destroyed before a certain point. Ground units drive around and capture airbases if they can reach them. Having tangible effects for whatever you attack or defend makes the game very satisfying.
>>576122621But where is the damn VR support?!
Idk why people love PvE servers with 64 players. Its a clusterfuck and you don't ever have the time to do anything.
>>576131705have you tried getting good?
Track IR was such a good investment
>>576135028My computer is worth like $6k now, I spent $2.5k on my VR HMD and Lighthouse stations, and about $3k on all my HOTAS and mounts, BUT STILL I REFUSE to pay what TrackIR is asking. That shit is $50, tops.
Playing co-op escalation in Nuclear Option is peak sim comfy
>>576136180I tried all the half assed/cheap ways of doing it, it was always shitty and/or a pain in the assTrack IR worked perfectly right out the boxVR looks cool but it gives me violent motion sickness
1946 VR mod is jank kino so far
>>576131705Maybe the huge new map in .35 will help. Or maybe it'll explode people's processors, 64 players is definitely a bit much in any case.
>>576088573The simplicity of Ace Combat, the sophistication of DCS.You don't carry more missiles than what is under the wings. It's a whole battlefield, ground units outnumber plane 100 to 1, and you have like 20 type of anti-surface weapons.Must carefully negotiate SEAD attack against IR sensor, ARH missile guided by the radar, ARH missile which become autonomous on final approach. You even have logistic for ground vehicles now.The developer did NOT just replicate IRL aircraft to satisfy rivet-counting fanboy. The setting is a fictional year 2070 war, with a frankly amazing variety of aircraft with detailed damage model. They also didn't just make one fighter gameplay, then tweaked it for 10 look-alike multirole fighters.Just look at all the aircraft and imagine their physics, the next one will be a LARGE logistic aircraft.https://nuclearoption.wiki.gg/wiki/AircraftEx:The classic attack copter? Can suffers from vortex ringThe transport helicopter with rear fan? It doesn't have enough power for both the main & rear fans at full powerThe Propeller aircraft? They can lose the propeller bladesStealth aircraft? RCS change if you have external wing pylonsExhaust vectoring? Difference between 2D and 3D vectoring
>>576134917>have you tried getting good?Nta but it's not a question of getting good, the game is fast spaced and when you reach even 10 players, players end up stealing each other's target. You launch on a mission to take out an island defense using non-nuclear weapon, it's nuked by a player who launched 10 ballistic missiles at it from the other side of the map.Constantly checking if someone is already going for a target is tiring, and if you haven't unlocked yet (each game) the latest aircraft, you can't compete.>>576131705Since the last update you can actually lose against the AI with 6 other players.Thought it might be because I was the only one doing anything and I'm not yet capable of soloing a nuke through 10 layers of air defense. It doesn't help that Hearthland is becoming too small for the weapons that were added in the game. When the anti-air frigate enter the map, you have to destroy it ASAP or it basically cover the entire map
Am drunk and bought the Mig 21 module in DCSdon't tell my wife
>>576088573Nuclear option is the perfect mid point between sim and arcadeIts effortless to get into pvp or pve server and get playingIts developed by around 4 autists who listen to the communityI am hoping one day we will have /simg/ co-op escalation games
>>576143487No, you did good. It's the most capable aircraft in the whole game.
>>576143487sorry too late, she just read your post off my screen ;^)

Hi, I’d appreciate some advice on HOTAS gear. I’m considering buying these two VKB products:https://flightsimcontrols.com/product/gladiator-evo-space-combat-edition/ (premium)https://flightsimcontrols.com/product/stecs-space-throttle-system-mini-plus-left-handed/However, after doing some research, I’ve read that Virpil’s new budget stick may be a better option because it has more metal components and is also around €40 cheaper. This will be my first HOTAS setup, so I don’t have any experience with this kind of hardware yet. I’m wondering how well devices from two different manufacturers work together. I’m also concerned that mixing brands could make mounting everything more difficult. What would you recommend: sticking with VKB for both the stick and throttle, or pairing a Virpil stick with the VKB STECS throttle? I play space sims mostly but I'm also planning on using it for the new il2 game.
