Happy Town is my favorite track of Chapter 5 right now. Gasterschizoing aside. Usually when you think of the songs that play when creepy things are happening in the creepypasta reality is collapsing moments of those games you imagine it'll be a lower pitched, glitchy new version of the songs, but instead Toby made a beautiful melancholic take of Another day in Hometown. It's tough to explain but Happy Town brings a sense of nostalgia, the feeling you're holding on to a memory dear to you in the most dire moment of your life. I hope Side B's true meaning is beyond just a corruption of the game.

I wonder if at first Toby planned for the main character cast of DR to be bigger but something between Chapter 2 and 3 he changed his mind and went back to the beta plan of just the main trio + Noelle, because earlier there were decent hints others would join in eventually as well but the ones who didn't have much in the first 2 chapters were never allowed to do anything and the few who did were basically written out, Berdly is non-existent after 2, partially due to his fate being so different between normal, weird, and aborted weird route, but there was little attempt to integrate him despite a lot of screen time in Chapter 2, and Lancer, who has been here since the beginning, is barely of any importance at all This is not quite criticism but it is something I've noticed...

The more I think about it, the more I think that "Susie Swap" happened, but it was unintentional. Noelle WAS supposed to be the girl and that's what the Shadow Crystals show. But after taking the SOUL, Kris slept in late which caused a butterfly effect leading to them going to the closet with Susie. The prophecy reacted to the presence of two Lightners matching the Cage and Girl descriptions near a dark fountain opened by someone matching the Knight descriptions (Card Castle) and automatically generated (or moved?) Castle Town and Ralsei nearby. When Kris backs away from the supply closet door, they're not feigning their reaction, they're genuinely shocked because they didn't expect a dark world there. The Knight probably opened the chapter 2 fountain when and where they did to try to bring Noelle back into the fold like they originally planned, but it didn't work. The chapter 4 fountain could also potentially fit into this, because Toriel was supposed to be holding choir practice at church and Noelle is in choir. This also fits with my other theory that Kris and the Knight's plan is to escape whatever boundaries are enclosing Hometown, whether it's a simulation or it's just magically cut off from the rest of the world. They probably want to take Noelle with them which is why they wanted her to be the Girl. That motive especially makes sense for Dess Knight, obviously.

I remember assuming that this would end up relating to Flowery's opinion of Ralsei, since Flowery was the one that hid him in that wardrobe, but by the end of the chapter I think it's clear that isn't the case. Rather, the game's writing is singling out Ralsei as "unnecesary." Why is that?
