The HSR playerbase was full of tourists, people with a chip on their shoulder/Genshin haters, and drama baiters so HSR went almost 2 whole years with nonstop praising. HSR was not a game to be played but a vehicle to attack Genshin. If something could be used to say it was better than Genshin then people praised it. MHY then just kept doing what people seemed to like but it turns out that people didn't actually like it and it was just mob mentality. Look at how HSR has tons of improvements and free 5 stars but it's still losing players and making less. Those are just good PR stunts to get people praising it but the lower sales, lower views, lower social media interactions, and lower everything paints a clear picture.
