The only way to fight them in melee is to cheese them by bash stunlocking and that's only possible because of soup, which doesn't work except in vanilla.It's an inherently poorly designed fight, you would have to basically turn off all their functions to make them feasible to kill in melee and then they would be even more tiresome to fight.

Just tested the texture downscaling mod, I'm not sold on it. It definitely works on some level yet I still get stuttering which I never get with vramr. While testing I was watching my vram usage and saw some strange results. Randomly my vram usage would spike upwards for a fraction of a second, something I have never seen before. I suspect that's what's causing the continued stuttering despite my vram usage reading as well under max most of the time.
