>>576559414Do you have any CIWS? They can cut down on the number of enemies that manage to land by either outright killing them or injuring them. Until their drop pods land and open, the CIWS will continue firing. I personally use Local's CE Gravship Arnaments and use the Scuta PDC alongside the Combat Extended - Charged Ammo mod so that I can load them with 7.65x51 NATO Charged (Conc) rounds. Whether that extra piercing helps or not I have no idea, but it seemed to work well enough even against enemy Dragoon drops from the DeadManSwitch mods, and helps with base defence as well.The other guns from Local's CE Gravship Arnaments are fun to use as well, especially the Hasta-25 turret. It's seriously so strong that loaded with 25x137mm (AP-HE) rounds, it eats even mechanoids from extreme range. The Spatha-12.7 loaded with .50 BMG (Ion) rounds put near them makes almost any mechanoid raid trivial because they'll EMP stun approaching mechanoids while they're all at it.If the issue is 'indoor defence', even if within the base perimeter for detached buildings, I like to use the Wall Mounted Turrets mod and put up a bunch of Minigun Turrets around. If you load them up with 7.65x51mm NATO (AP-HE) rounds, they'll be able to deal with a lot of enemies by themselves, unless they're literally right on top of them (sitting in the same time) or they're 'flying type' like Locusts, in which case they'll miss like mad. But if you put the turrets to cover for each other, they can pick enemies off for each other. You will need good wall mods like Gloomy Reinforced Walls though, because they'll eat through walls like paper if they miss too much and you have to watch that the turrets don't end up shooting down your own pawns instead. At least the wall turrets never explode when damaged.

You'll have to use the Wall Mounted Turrets (Continued) mod from Miles instead, which was patched for CE by the CE mod itself. They could very well just be underwelming for their cost and power usage - the wall mounted minigun turrets cost like 200 steel and 4 components each and the Scuta PDC, Hasta-25 and Spatha-12.7 turrets cost steel, plasteel and up to 10 components each, with the Hasta-25 and I think Spatha-12.7 also requiring 1 advanced component. There is a 3x3 autocannon turret that fires 40mm rounds, but the Hasta-25 works so well that I've never actually built the 3x3 autocannon turret.

I cast 'Farmable Leafy Soil', a floor tile that costs 10 wood! It not only has base 2 Beauty, but it also has 5% Filth! And as implied by its name, it also lets you plant crops and flowers on it! No longer do you have to leave bedrooms with flowers growing in it filled with dirty soil, you could place these down and grow flowers while eliminating filth! It is, on the other hand, quite flammable and can only be made using wood, but if you don't care about the ability to grow crops on this, there is a 5 wood variant that is just simply the Leafy Soil floor tile, and a variant of that which lets you use non-flammable materials like Steel you did make steel non-flammable with mods, right? instead! I cover the entire thread with this flammable 5% filth floor tile to grow grass with and end my turn!
