There are conflicting prophecies regarding what happens when Emp dies. The Dark King prophecy is that he will fundamentally change who he is and in the 10k years he has been on the throne, the man who once was is completely gone. When that man dies, his psychic presence will manifest as a new warp god who will change humanity into an even darker version of itself than it already is.There's a variant of this prophecy which actually has Emps still alive, but pushed aside by the entity that becomes the Dark King, and the original Emps will have to do battle with the Dark King for the fate of humanity.These prophecies are supported by the fact that Emps is already, now a fractured psyche of several or a dozen or more distinct psyche's that contradict each other and some aren't even aware of each other. When Guilleman spoke to Emps he experienced this directly, so this is absolute canon, but the prophecies are various guesses in-universe about what will happen.This prophecy is contradicted by the starchild prophecy, which states Emps will be reborn when he dies. This is what normally happens to perpetuals, but Emp's injury from Horus, and his time on the throne witnessing countless quadrillions of deaths over the last 10k years may have changed the way things work. Also, there will be 16 or so years time where Emp is being born and becoming a teenager before he shows up again and takes control of the Imperium, and that is enough time to for things to drastically turn to shit, since Emps is keeping the Astronomicom lit (warp navigation would cease) and he's also keeping an addition Eye of Terror closed with constant psychic effort that the 4 chaos gods are trying to open over Terra which would presumably instantly open when Emps steps of the throne.The only word from the Emperor himself regarding what will happen is one order in a sealed box that only the Grey Knights know about, which simply says "If I stand up from the throne, put me back".

Saga Edition and FFG star wars are both great, and a traditional isometric turn based crpg surprisingly doesn't exist for star wars. kotor1 kotor2 and swtor are great rpg's but it's been over a decade since some of them. Imagine making a jedi and selecting force powers, a bounty hunter and selecting various armor systems, a stealth character with tech options like a stealth generator or force options like mind trick. There's so much there that is ready-made for a crpg with classes and skills etc. Zero Company looks like it'll have some rpg elements like story decisions and character creation, and I love that style of turn based combat, so this hopefully will scratch the itch.At least Divinity is getting a new game, and we'll see to what degree FOTOR is a rpg.

Exotic weapons don't seem like they're worth it in WOTR. If you're going to require a feat just to use something, it should be a little better than +1. You can spend that same feat on something that gives +1 to a weapon class that actually has items.

I think wotr has the weakest of the owlcat casts though, and I also think owlcat's encounter design of just putting a screen full of demons with 40 ac is not good encounter design, especially since bosses are just the same thing but with 80 ac and a list of immunities. There are a couple exceptions of course but this is the prevailing trend. Despite loving the game and the developer, I think wotr is actually a prime example of bad encounter design. The difficulty levels are just stacking more stats and immunities, and the "skill" of the game is actually just using the right dispell or item that cuts immunities, which you can usually just read on the info screen. I don't like wotr for the gameplay, I like it for the music, story, mythics, and some of the characters.Despite being easy, RT is based on a solid turn based ruleset so I do prefer it, and DH improves literally everything in every way and that's not an exaggeration. Including gameplay and encounter design. So much better in DH.
Skill tree reminds me more of Vikings rather than Rome. A lot of potential build variety.

SM2 has a much more lore accurate fight with a changer of ways, which involves dozens of astartes dying, and then you have an extended showdown where an astartes has to whittle it down mostly by playing scared and desperately avoiding its attacks. There have been characters who have killed greater deamons singlehandedly, but those are people like Draigo and Guilleman, who are themselves warp enhanced super abhumans. Combat feels more or less the same but It's not as "snappy" as it was in Rome. Also your incentivized to start encounters by being a sneakfag and use guerilla warfare. At least early game. Seems like the stealth mechanic will be a big thing.
