I have an illness that might end my life within months or even less. I am sad to say I will almost certainly not be able to play Kingdom Hearts 4. I played KH1 on the PS2 in back in like 2004. I played KH2 and ReCoM a bit later. I had a lot of fun with the series as a kid. I got to play KH3 on my PC a year ago and I enjoyed it for what it was and it brought back a lot of memories. I feel like the series will continue to bring lots of people joy and revive old memories too. I am truly glad Kingdom Hearts was part of my life, it taught me never to give up and to always believe in the light.

There was no reason to not have Seifer's gang still in Twilight Town, and they could have given the FF characters roles in the Radiant Garden cutscenes. Looking around at insider hustle and bustle post direct, I would wager KH4 is intended for late 2027 early 2028. That doesn't mean we'll be seeing anything at D23, but I do think we'll see something again this year.
