Melusine discussion here genuinely makes me sad because it makes me realise how much both sides of this debate look at these characters through the lens of waifuism and nothing else.Aurora is an undeniable part of Melusines character, she is effectively an abuser that Melusine has gotten away from at this point (post-Chaldea summoning) in her characterization, but she's part of what makes her a legitimately interesting, tragic, multifaceted character.Melusine is someone who has never had a high view of herself, but thanks to her Aurora, feigns pride in her power and abilities, but relies on others for emotional support to actually be able to have that pride in herself. Aurora abused that and Melusine suffered for that, but eventually managed to escape that, and while she doesn't constantly go around mentioning Aurora, she still thinks about her, the same way someone in an abusive relationship or from an abusive family would still be shaped, in some way, by the abusers that are no longer around.That kind of dynamic and the way Melusine acts due to it is genuinely great and choco's art fits that beautifully tragic image of Melusine as well. But then whenever you faggots discuss Melusine and Aurora you talk about NTR for some reason because all you consider is the specific dynamic of if the character is a chaste virgin waifu or not.
