There are a lot of parts within Deltarune that look better than that but I would say the overall aesthetic caps out around mid range sega saturn level. I feel like most games nowadays don't take into consideration how they look in motion. A lot of games end up looking up super high contrast regardless of whether or not they are going for realism or pixel art or whatever and they all just dissolve into really harsh visual noise that hurts to look at.With realistic games, the lighting and effects make it worse.With pixel art, the shittyness and use of blacks and super contrasting sprites make it worse.There's a point where a game is so visually noisy that it just become hard to tell what's going on.Undertale's and Deltarune battles usually are just have black and white bullets with your red heart so it's easy to tell what's going on in motion. I'll give him that even though I don't think that was intentional on his part.Maybe it's getting worse for me with age, but I always sort of noticed this with games.
