I got word today Jarl Ulfric wants to help finance our cartel. He’s hoping the payoff will help with acquiring more soldiers and weapons for the war. This is a big step. I have to be careful how I approach this. I can play it several ways. I can go to Tullius and see if he wants to match Ulfric’s offer, or beat it. I can parlay this by relating the information to Balgruuf, thereby using our cartel to help shape political policy coming out of Dragonsreach. Or it could be the biggest, nastiest trap Maven has ever set for us. One misstep, and we could lose everything. I’ll have to think about this, and it’s a fine day with you around.

>>576955182its definitely NOT just "whatever"literally anything other than elemental damage is completely negated. in MW, thats a LOT of spell effects you literally cannot be touched by anymore. damage attribute is the big one tho. also diseases cant hurt you you can get them, but arent actually affected by them. not even corprus. half the traps are magicka based too. and its not like no ones ever gonna try to whack you with a netch blade during your time on vvardenfell. its a LOT of things. damage attribute alone is already a big deal to just not have to worry about anymore imoplus youre not even considering the offensive reasons you might want total magic immunity. being completely impossible to reflect magic-based spells back at means you can make any magicka-based spell and never get reflected. obv this can be done with nords and frost magic, and argonians and poison magic, etc. but those are much more narrow in their scope. magic-based spells have a larger variety and are rly fun to fuck around with. and breton is suited perfectly to going full-retard into thatin either case, it definitely makes for a heartier character than high elfs, who are instead weak to literally everything. on max difficulty, i find altmer to just be annoying to play without some chicanery. you can do it obviously, you just have to babysit them earlygame. atronach sign then stacking absorption with your equipment/spells being the most obvious for a supermage. but it always takes much more effort than just getting a few pieces of equipment or spells for a breton. and unlike the breton, youll always have to worry about reflect. for everything

Attribute damage is easily negated by a restoration spell and disease is a non-issue too. The jinkblade, sure it can be annoying but it's hardly a major issue. Bretons certainly make the early game easier as a mage and that's the most (or rather, only) difficult part of a playthrough so in that sense they're pretty alright I guess. I just don't think their Magicka Resist makes them top tier.
