It just feels a little inconvenient to go to her early on.From farm you go to forest-Marnie-barn-puzzle sewer before reaching Mellie.Where as Krobus the route is just bus station- town. 4 rooms compared to 2 and even in those 2 rooms you could do quick chitchat with bypassing npcs.
