Piecing together the vague instructions about the nerve gas and which intake to use was fun. I wasn't sure I got it right until I opened the door, and I'm out of medkits, so I was very interested in avoiding a fight. I could have just left because Blitz got us through a side hall, but I had to check.It's so much satisfying to piece something together than have some giant pointer finger saying "GO HERE TO DO THE THING", though this game has plenty of that as well. Another kind of fun one was in an earlier mission, there's a personnel computer, and you can type in names. Not very difficult by any means, just noting names down from terminals or office placards, but more satisfying than just selecting given names from a drop-down list or something.
I think I'm almost finished with Dragonfall finally, and though I've mostly enjoyed it the item management is absolute horseshit. While on missions, no one but MC can pick up items, and you can't trade items between members even when just walking around.It's really dumb. The combat's easy enough it's not really a problem, just annoying.

She will be condescending and bitchy, but if you make specific choices and dialogue throughout the game, she shows up at the end and actually helps with her ship or somesuch. Well I finished Dragonfall. Dragged my heels on getting through it for reasons unrelated to the game itself. Not as good as Hong Kong, but not as much of a difference in quality as I had expected.A fair amount of cool moments and characters and subplots. Also a fair amount of forgettable ones. It's not a game you play for the combat, though it did grow on me in a way. I never once felt risk of a TPK on Hard (out of Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard). I don't imagine Very Hard would have much appeal to me as the combat mechanics themselves are just not that deep or interesting. Hard was good enough to keep me off of complete auto-pilot, but I wouldn't disagree with someone just turning it to Easy to play for the story.I never found out what was up with the dancing lady you could tip, and I seemed to exhaust Lucky Strike's conversation midway through the game with no follow-up in the final hub rounds either. She felt like a late add-on or something.I never took Glory except for her personal mission, and she's the only one who left the crew at the end, though I think this is specifically due to how we resolved her quest.Item management was very poorly done. For one example, if you're on a run and your whole team has empty item slots, and you have full and go to pick something up, your only option is to replace one of your current items or send it back to your stash (so not available this run.) Nobody else can pick it up. The exception I believe is during combat, while controlling each character. It stinks of artificial constraint, and the worst kind that doesn't make sense with reality at all.Companions were ... Okay I guess. Nothing negative I can point at, but no real interest in them as people.Overall 6/10. Fun moments, glad I played it, probably won't again.
