Is it just me or is Rance IX not feel like an Alicesoft game? Alicesoft games always have a lot of game. Rance III and IV have impressive scale, 5D and Quest have innovative gameplay, VI is really damn long, KR is a mix of ADV game and grand strategy, and SR is RPG combat applied to grand strategy. On the other hand, IX is 90% VN and there isn't anything particularly large, innovative, or impressive about the grid combat. The fort, orbs, and stats are nice little touches but that's all that they are.
