Just so I'm on the right path here:They spent 3 years in pre-production fucking around and reading game design books, building tech stack, internal seminars, and hiring the necessary people to work on the game. Then around mid-2019 they actually started working on the game, which was that 1v1 build footage we saw earlier. They spent another 3 ish years on that.Then around the early 2020s...2022-,ish, Clockwork/the exMarvel players/the anime players convinced them to scrap the current gameplay framework they had and rework the game entirely into a tag fighter. They still had the benefit of the logistics sides of things sorted out (server infrastructure, etc), but they switched art styles and had to redo/scrap a lot of assets. Riot then put their foot down and told them to at some point in (early?) 2024 to get whatever they had out of the door. And this is when they "finalized" their plans, started to bring the game out to public builds and demo, and started the ad/marketing surge for the game. Then they still didn't have everything ready in early 2025, so they had to commit to the early access launch, lack of console launch, early start of eSports tour for the end of the year and all the other shit for later in the year. They would eventually "finish" with the 1.0 console launch. What a fucking trainwreck.
